Sure, I care.

What's your vision for your rifle?

Are you doing an upper and lower build, or just the lower and using a pre-made upper?

How far along are you with the build?

I am working on the lower only right now, but I hope to build both the upper and the lower. To be brief, looking to build an M4 style, flat top, nothing fancy, but with the stock, pistol grip, etc in FDE. I figured once I am done with the lower, I will start working on designing the upper. It is somewhat a long term project. I am no rush at the moment, because once done I would want to blow through my ammo giving it a work out.

Once the lower parts come in, I will be able to complete the lower, and start spending money on the upper. I was able to get a Magpul UBR stock awhile ago for super cheap. I am looking forward to getting it put together. Since this is my first AR build, I am taking it slow, and considering all options.

I care, and I can empathize... I just opened up my PSA MOE lower completion kit a little while ago. I've had a spare stripped lower sitting around for years and figured it was time to get parts before another layer of oppression is laid on us. Right now I'm looking at trigger parts to see how much prep work they need prior to assembly.

I'm in no rush since I haven't decided on which direction the finished gun should take. I already have a pair in 5.56, so this should be something different. Dedicated .22 rimfire? Don't think so. Maybe a more accurate gopher killer... or something of the .300 flavor, now that I'm reloading. So many choices...

I care about everyone who has to wait...I'm approaching the 8th month for my suppressor.:aargh4:

Are you referring to the .300 BLK? I have thinking a little down this line.

Yep, the Blackout or possibly the Whisper... I've barely started the research. Not taking anything away from JD Jones, but it looks like AAC has done more extensive development work on the Blackout.

I like the Blackout concept because (in theory) it uses the same mags, bolt carrier groups, etc as the .223, just needs the different barrel. It is my understanding that trimming down and resizing the .223 into .300 BLK is easy. More research required, but the concept is tempting!
