As most of you know we have been having some problems with the forum going down at times. This is a problem, I believe, with MySQL, the database that is behind vBulletin. I ordered an upgrade for it a couple of weeks ago to get ready for the newest version of the forum and it appears that may have caused the instability. The host has been working on getting us back up but I don't believe it is "solved" yet.

I will be doing some additional maintenance, removing some of the modifications that we have on the site and trying to prepare for the upgrade to the new version of the forum software. This may lead to more, sporadic downtime and slowdowns as I do this. Bear with us, we'll be stable again soon......

Thanks Bumper for all your hard work on the up grades and keeping the forum running. Couldn't access the site for about 4 hours today, glad it's now up.

Thanks for the update Bumper, and thanks for all the hard work you do behind the scenes. Often, we fail to appreciate something until we don't have access to it.

Another word of thanks. Glad it's related to upgrades and not a major bug. I'm sure we're all looking forward to what we'll see here in the future.

I guess you probably know, but threads are currently invisible (at least to me). Clicking on a thread goes straight to 'quick reply' and no posts are shown.

I assume this is related to 'Forum Downtime'...

ETA: now I see JAT40 as post #2, below mine.

It's been down and unavailable almost all day today, so I actually got some work done around the house! Thanks so much for the downtime!

Seriously though, thank you Bumper for your diligence and hard work in keeping our on-line community (generally) up and running!

It's nice to have you back. This is my daily read and I was hoping nothing serious had happened. This is one of the few forums worth reading.

When this, or something similar happens, log off the forum, close the browser, clear all cookies and then log back in. Most of the time the problem is a corrupted cookie and this procedure will clear it up. I don't know that we are completely out of the woods yet. The host is going to be doing some database optimization tomorrow and this may cause some more downtime or at least some slowdown. I have to work tomorrow so I will be clueless until the afternoon. Hang in there, this is my priority right after earning a living.....

Everything is back now, after closing IE and logging in again. I did not clear the cookies.
