Anything to get elected.

"Leaked yesterday by Arizona radio host James T. Harris via an anonymous source, the above photo is of Congresswoman Gabby Giffords holding an AR-15 back in October 2010. The photo was taken during campaign season by an anonymous source who is of law enforcement — the purpose of the photo was to ‘toughen up’ Giffords’ image. The photo was well known in the Arizona law enforcement community but had remained publicly concealed until yesterday."

It's only wrong if you have an AR-15.

Well, they have publicly confessed to being actual gun owners.

Not to sound like some sort of anti here but the Giffords have been relatively open with there change of stance post Gabby/Tucson shooting. Prior to her being shot they were pretty pro-gun, and opposed the Washington D.C. handgun prohibition situation. That at least that's my understanding from the interviews I have seen of them and other from a few other sources.

So while I don't agree with her current gun stance I am not sure I would begin criticizing her and her husband based off an old photo of her with an AR. Until I have been shot in the head and then made an amazing recovery I will reserve judgement on how someone and their husband should feel after that sort of event.

Ya know, my neighbor killed his wife years ago with a hammer.....no one banned hammers in my town. Why is it Regan who was shot didn't call for a ban on guns or after the Kennedy assassination there wan't a ban on guns.....your dealing with irrational people who are in it for the politics and money.....IMO.

I will give them the right to change their minds, especially since part of hers got shot away.

The 1968 Gun Control Act was a result of JFK, MLK and RFK being assassinated.

I disagree with them but I am not going to criticize them for changing their minds

I certainly can understand their personal feeling about the subject and would feel terrible if it happened to my loved one. But using her tragedy to promote himself into office is another thing. We all have heard the saying about not letting a tragedy go to waste.

There's a large difference in them changing their minds and them forcing their views upon me.

They, and anyone else, can be as anti-gun as they want to be and I'll support their right to be that way but when they start trying to make me conform to their views then I have a big issue with it.

Your rights end where my nose begins.

I'll give Gabby a pass on this one, but the ones manipulating her deserve to be outed loudly. How was this pic a secret until lately?

Ill be more then happy to give her a pass. Mark Kelly, I will not give pass too. I feel like in some way shape or form he manipulates her opinion.

I only feel like I can say this because when my wife and I were shot by someone we didn't know, we struggled with it quiet a bit, and we had our emotional discussions. I can see where they arrived where they did. For us there was no blaming of inanimate objects though, none of the same reaction they are having. we knew why we got shot, and it wasn't the mag capacity or the tool that fired the round.

One of the key questions is...when were these photos taken? Pre-traumatic experience? Post? If the OP via Guns.com link (which is currently down) say October 10...That really important to know before we call them hypocrites. Now I love me some 2A and all that our fore fathers meant by it when they wrote it. But let's cut these folks some slack based on their experience. They have a right to change their mind and/or position on 2A issues. Now you or I may not agree with their current stance on the issues, it does not mean they are being untrue to their current beliefs (and maybe their prior beliefs were not convictions based on the constitution but politics based on getting elected). They "changed their minds/beliefs"...it's their right as Americans, correct? We'd be crying foul if antis and/or libers used the same kind of tactics to prove their "point of hypocrisy" with very shaky/highly questionable journalism at best.
