The question is for you guys that carry the G23, or guys that carry very similar size weapons. Any input would be appreciated. I really hate going through a $1000 worth of rigs trying to find the right one to carry a $500 weapon.
What have you found to be the most comfortable and concealable holster?

C3NH, Ive looked pretty hard at that one, but was concerned about bulk printing. Im on that old fashioned fried food diet and have built in bulk already. Im 5'9" and float around 180-190, depending.
Do you think a fatty can pull off wearing this one?

When I was 205..............I hid it also...........depend on the type of clothing you're wearing and type of weather in your area..

Well, thats encouraging. I really dont want to carry this thing IWB. Its too tight for some jeans and too hot. Being in Florida, you can imagine that t-shirts are uniform of the day. Hopefully just thick cotton and big in the barrel will do the trick.

CA--

To this one you are going to get several answers.
What is comfortable to one may or may not be comfortable to another. What conceals perfectly on one individual may or may not conceal on another. The draw stroke again may be perfect for one but not another.....etc. etc. etc. My recommendation is to discuss your needs with a holster maker or company of choice. Most of the custom makers out there are more than willing to take the time to discuss such issues. Once you are pleased with a certain product then check out the archives of the various major forums to see what others have stated concerning that product. If you are lucky then you may find information posted from individuals of similar size etc.

Good luck in your holster search.

Where in Florida are you? I'm in Miami and carried my M23 IWB for years. I recommend a t-shirt and a lightweight oversized Hawaiian shirt for cover. Heck, you can conceal a Glock M21 or H&K MK23 with that combo and a Blade-Tech IWB. I like Blade-Tech especially for the Glock and H&K because they have finishes that are especially tough and durable and thus are not able to be marred by the kydex material. I love the IWB with the "J" Hooks to secure the holster.

If you are able to afford a custom then you can't get any better than the Sam Andrews McDaniel II IWB. http://www.andrewsleather.com

Well.......for a G23 holster every maker in the world has the mold....or should. The makers already mentioned are top notch.
Your own Moderator makes one of the best IWB you can buy......Gary makes great stuff. Take a patient look around and see what suits your needs.
Go from there.........Shoot well.

I have two holsters on order from KD for my G23, I'll be sure to post a review when they get in. (It's only been just over a week, but it feels longer!)

Been away for a couple of days, but thank you all for the input. Im seriously looking at a few holsters mentioned in this thread that I had not considered before. Especially the KD, since he's ex-navy and here in Florida. We already have those things in common. Im also looking at a Galco and Milt Sparks. Im glad I asked for advice.

oregonshooter, thanks for the offer. Its not really what I had pictured, but it does look nice.

ExSoldier762, Im in Jax. Whatever I settle on has to have a very tight ride, since I wear t-shirts most of the time.

Thanks again for the advice.

CleaningAccident,

What a co-inky-dink! I'm ex-Navy (amongst other things,) I live in Florida, and less than 5 minutes ago, I placed my order for a K&D Laredo Defender! :yup:

I went the the brown, so it would match my belt and shoes. How tastefull! Thought about some tooling, but decided against it. After all, it is for concealment, isn't it?

Did add the 3 initials, though. Had to feed the ego something. . . :biggrin2:

Cool Mike. I'll probably pull the trigger on a holster this week. I tend to overthink sometimes. Comes from years of hasty decisions that came back to bite me.
Did you, by chance, order a belt too?

I wonder what KD would charge to inscribe "Dont worry about this holster unless its empty". :biggrin2:
