I have two glocks (G19 and G26), and sometimes I think on leaving the G19 in my car overnight. I live in Miami where humidity is high.
Is it a good idea? Would it damage the gun or ammo if I leave the gun in the car for weeks?
the miami weather will not hurt your glock. I dropped my glock overboard once, maybe twice when i worked in the keys (key largo area). just one more reason to go diving on the clock. the salt water did not hurt the gun, just gave it a cleaning days later, much later. but the local "low lifes" will hurt your glock. take your gun inside your residence at night. if your car is in the open (driveway) it is fair game in dade county. late night in dade county is when the bad guys come out to see what they can steal. come to think about it, anytime is a good time for bad guys to come out in dade county.
today ammo is good and normal weather will not effect it. i have shot ammo that has been overboard, rained on, and set in the trunk of a g-ride that was wet for months with out any problems.
take your gun with you, it is no good to you in the car.
I know what you mean frankmako...I don't want it leave it in the car. I'm just being lazy. Every morning I take the G19 and the G26 to my car, and after work back to my house.
I was thinking on leaving the G19 in the house as the house gun, take the G26 to my car every morning and buy a pocket gun. That's why I asked in another thread about the Guardian .32acp.
Are you talkin' about the guy that dropped his GLOCK out of an airplane...actually shot bullets at it...slammed it down on the concrete...and did about 50 other things to it. Complete with PICTURES...even.
I think my 21 has proven its durability
For several years I’ve been abusing and neglecting my Glock 21. A running joke among some friends and I, nothing planned or documented. As I tell people what it has been through, most simply don’t believe me. I wouldn’t either, I guess. If someone told you their Glock has at least 150K rounds through it, and has gone almost 15K rounds with no cleaning or maintenance, would you believe them?
