That's a good-looking Chief's Special. The 3-inch versions are much underrated. One can generally hide them just as well as the more popular 2-inch versions and they offer a bit more barrel for a smidgeon more "oomph" and, more importantly, their ejector rods offer a full stroke to clear empties.

Do you know what year it was made?

I think 1958 or 1959 but I am not sure The serial is 215326

I just got me an other J frame today. It is a 1950's flat latch J frame 36 with a 3 inch barrel. I love this thing.
Hard to beat format (3"). The classics can be a revelation.

Congratulations on the new find. :eek:k:
