Great Range Trip Today

Went to the range with a co-worker this evening and had a blast. I shot his FNP .45ACP and was very impressed with both the accuracy and shootability. Great trigger too.

I took my S&W 649, XDm-9, Bersa Thunder 380CC, and Browning Buckmark.

The last couple range trips my accuracy was terrible, so this evening I went back to my old and natural to me grip (I had worked hard on the thumbs forward on the frame pointing at the target grip). Since I was revolvers only for 20 years, my natural pistol grip was somewhat revolverish. Funny thing happened when I went back to it...I started shooting out the center of the target. Time after time, gun after gun.

Even the little Bersa Thunder 380CC, which hardly has any sights at all, from 10 yards the orange center dot on my shoot-n-c target disappeared. Same with my snubby 649. Hey, at this point I'm not going to mess with what is working. I'm just going to go with it. I can't argue with results.

I apparently turned my co-worker on to 22s because he brought a 22 styled after an assault rifle with all kind of laser optics. I shot a few mags out of it and he shot my Buckmark. He absolutely fell in love with that buckmark and is going to have to have one now. He also really liked shooting the little Bersa. I put Marshall wooden grips on it and that really helped the shootability of it for me.

At the end of the session, my co-worker gave me a new unopened brick of 500+ 22lr...the least I could do was buy him dinner. Great session, great time, got to shoot some new stuff, and got a brick of 22. THAT's a great evening!!!

I'm not surprised he liked the Buckmark. It's a great pistol. He'll be very happy with it. Sounds like a good experience for all and you ended up with a brick of .22s. Can't beat that deal.
Thunbs forward or thumbs down, if it ain't broke don't fix it! Whatever gets rounds on target is good.

Good days at the range are to be treasured, just like good days fishing, hunting or {shudder} golfing!
Thumbs down left thumb over right seems to be the key for me. 20 years of shooting revolvers that way just can't be undone. Our next trip is to the driving range...he used to play golf and has been looking to get back into it.

I also shot his FNH FiveseveN with 30 round "magazine clip" (lol). It shot low and the sights aren't adjustable. Had to manipulate the sight picture to get it on target. To me it seems like a solution looking for a problem.
Sounds like a blast! I am headed for round 2 with my new 45 this afternoon, and my Wife will take her first shots with her new Sig 938.
I am very curious to fire this as well.
Progress does not always equal improvement. Stick with what works.

Don't take your Buckmark with you and shoot his golf balls out of the air!
