I ran across this video again and thought to share. One of the best examples of quick and proper reaction, using cover, moving off the X over and over as he fires and defeating THREE bad guys. One thug even drops his gun and both shoes as his ass becomes a bullet backstop. If this guy was not a career cop he should have been. I wonder how many weekends a month he shoots IDPA? LOL

Here is another robbery of an Internet café in Florida being robbed, and the robbers shot by an armed citizen:

I didn't know that Internet cafés still existed, and I'm surprised that they would be robbery targets.

Well done! It's remarkable how quickly he reacts and continually uses movement and cover. Hard to see anything he could have done much better.

Wow. I could only hope that even with my training I could do it the way he did. God bless him!

And I do believe he not only saved his own life, but also saved others who were in the place, had the BGs been successful in getting by him.

To the OP GeorgiaShooter, thanks for posting this.

If I'm not mistaken most "internet cafes" in certain states are casinos.

I think hemight have been LEO once... and retired, just a sense I get from the vid.
Yeah I think you are right. I studied this video too. He did awesome but with training he could have avoided several major mistakes. Some that could have got him killed. The bad guy here did not have a good working gun and he saw the old fella early and swung the gun around because the defender stood up and started moving toward him. This is automatically how humans and animals detect their prey or predators. He also leaned down on his weak leg which I recall from some of the older police and military training. That was not the best tactic and locks him out of others. He also slung the gun as he shot like some old cowboy movie and although 10 feet away did not go for the head shot or two well placed rounds. He showed how doing something fast will usually win a fight and I commend him for doing better than most of us would but from a learning standpoint I still study and practice this scenario just because of this incident.

If you watch MY very first draw in this video you see how I might have chosen how he got the first shots off. The rest is experimentation and practice and you can bet these shots were all finding their marks. Internet Cafe Drill - Moving and shooting - YouTube

The thing that people seem to forget is that we get a huge adrenaline dump in these situations and that impairs our bodies in many ways. We get tunnel vision, it restricts our blood vessels and limits fine motor skills, our large muscles tighten and don't more as fluidly. So what is easy in training is much more difficult when your life is in danger. That is why we shoot center mass, because it allows for those effects. You train to teach to body to resist those effect and allow you to react properly in those situations, the problem is that very few get the amount of training they would really need. From everything I saw in the video, he did a great job for a real shooting.

Still want to send the guy some gratitude, like a dinner for him and his family. Anyone got an email address?

Edit Add - seriously, anyone got an angle to contact this man? Since the IRS has been a bunch of bafoons lately (see FOX news on that), I have not been overt about where I spend my allowance money (what the wife gives me). I would really like to treat this man and his family to dinner.

The moral to this story only a good guy with a gun stopped a bad guy with one .....Bravo job well done ! I also want to say this is also about inflicting so much pain the bad guy no longer wants to proceed, you want that person to stop his actions and or retreat . Well he left his shoes .......:aargh4:

I can't tell for sure but I don't think the other two BGs stay around long enough to engage them safely. By the time the first one turns to run the others look to be gone. If he had moved forward after moving to the right he may of had a shot at the second guy. Unlike paper targets on the range BGs run away most times, they don't want to stay around and fight it out. Which is good.

All in all he stopped the attack and went home afterwards without taking a hit. I call that a good day.
