My handguns range in cal. from .25 to.38 to .357 to 9mm.

CCL= concealed carry LICENSE?
I ask only because I often see one when referring to the other.

Welcome to the forum DasBoot.

You will see folks using any of these to refer to a permit holder or their permit. The reason being is that in some states (i.e. VA) it is a concealed handgun permit (CHP), some states (i.e. MO) it is a concealed weapons permit (CWP) and some states call it a concealed carry license (CCL) or a concealed handgun license (CHL) and also people refer to carrying concealed weapons (CCW). Any of those variations are used to refer to the permit/license or someone who carries. It all depends on where they are and sometimes how long they have carried.

You can also "have" a "CCW" ~ which would be either your permit to carry your firearm or the Concealed Carry Weapon itself. :rofl:

And just to add to the acronym confusion, Florida issues a concealed weapon license, or CWL.
Florida does not limit you to handguns only. It's good for knives and such too.
