GUN SHOP THAT SOLD FIREARM TO NEWTOWN SHOOTER’S MOM HAS GUN LICENSE REVOKED — FEDS DON’T SAY WHY
Apr. 5, 2013 3:30pm Jason Howerton

EAST WINDSOR, CT – DECEMBER 21: The Riverview Gun Sales shop sits closed on December 21, 2012 in East Windsor, Connecticut. According to the Hartford Courant, sources investigating the massacre at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown have said the Bushmaster rifle used by the gunman Adam Lanza was legally purchased at the shop by his mother Nancy Lanza. The Courant also reports that records show the guns used in a previous mass shooting in Connecticut in 2010, where Omar Thornton killed eight people and himself at Hartford Distributers Inc, were also purchased at Riverview Gun Sales. On Thursday agents from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and local police raided and closed the gun shop. Credit: Getty Images
NEW HAVEN, Conn. — A shop that sold a gun to the Newtown school shooter’s mother has lost its federal firearms license.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives revoked the license of Riverview Gun Sales in East Windsor in December. The agency didn’t say why.

ATF RAIDS GUN SHOP WHERE CT SHOOTER’S MOTHER BOUGHT GUN USED IN MASSACRE
Dec. 20, 2012 6:42pm Jason Howerton

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) raided the gun shop where Nancy Lanza, the mother of Newtown, Conn. shooter Adam Lanza, bought at least one of the guns used in last week’s massacre, WFSB-TV Hartford Bureau Chief Len Besthoff first reported on Twitter Thursday.

ATF, along with the East Windsor police, raided Riverview Gun Sales in Windsor, Conn., the Hartford Courant confirms. Police did not reveal the reason behind the raid on Thursday, however, officials said it was not prompted by a single incident. An official said that an ongoing investigation was accelerated by recent developments, though the official didn’t say what those developments entailed.

Read on one of the news reports it was because a rifle was stolen from the store and they didn't report it to the ATF.

Not like the ATF wouldn't be looking for a reason anyhow.
Punitive action, no more--no less.

yep... no doubt...
More F Troop malarkey.
ATF officials said federal firearms license holders receive a copy of the violations report before a revocation is initiated and are made aware of the violations again during the hearing process. They have 60 days to appeal and in this case they chose not to do so, officials said.
Wouldn't this be covered under the Freedom of Information Act, or is that only available to the liberal Press, like the paper that published permit holders names?
Cavalry Arms here in AZ was similarly shut down by the BATFE a couple of years ago for paperwork violations, Clearly not in the same league as Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry being murdered by a fast and Furious gun that our "esteemed" BATFE let walk across the border, but by God we gotta stop these evil guns stores.

Not while the case is pending. It would only become available after a judgement was made.
And now the insanity starts.......

I pity recent veterans(and not so recent) if s. 374 Fix Gun Checks Act of 2013 gets enacted..... Knowing our government they will be denying veterans from owning weapons left and right..........
I'm not surprised at all. Riverview Sales is very close to where I live. The ATF discovered that they were missing 46 guns. They believed that a part time employee stole over 33 guns. Another person simply walking into the store on several occasions and stole over a dozen guns. The media makes it look like the Sandy Hook shooting was the cause, but it had little to nothing to do with it. It was simply carelessness on the owner's part.
