You've got to wonder about the mind that fails to get it. As in, "I wonder when his next therapy session is scheduled, and whether it'll help this time?"
The issue is so simple, any child can appreciate the rationality of it. Since humans began walking on two legs, the world has been a dangerous place. Back then, though, Ughr and Mod had to make do with H2H skills, up close and personal. And this, at a time when big cats were prevalent. Had improved means of defending oneself existed, do you think the crybaby element of the clan would howl about the horror of it all? Nah. Everyone would simply appreciate the idea that it could improve security and safety for everyone in the clan.
Can't imagine when the crybaby element came into being. But, we're worse off for it.
If you're attacked, defend. If your security is under-powered, then beef up the strength with improved tools and procedures. If you're going to head out into the world, don't be so naive as to attempt it without any means to stop an attempt to kill you, rape you, rob you, or an attempt by someone else to do those things to someone else. Before the day is done, kick the ultra-whiney idiots out of public office who would dare claim that upstanding citizens have no right to defend themselves and others against any and all threats via any means they have, and to put iron-clad statutes in place to uphold these ideals for as long as the people keep breathing. If someone comes for you or yours ... let them come and attempt to take it, if they're able. :comeandgetsome:
