nrm - welcome!

I am one of the exceptions here I think - my only 1911 is a 1927 Sistema - which is not a carry piece. I do worship JMB tho thru my BHP Practical! That has seen some carry service. I also have a P12-45 but whilst that feels good and shoots good - 100% reliability has not yet been achieved.

Otherwise - from a CCW POV - top of my list and daily carry is SIG 226ST with CT's and night sights. Then the SP-101 (CT's on that too) - did carry that for quite a while. I have also carried my M28-2 as well - another with CT's ... largish gun but not that bad a carry. Then there is an R9 BUG - for occasional primary too if push comes to shove.

Some pics -

P95, Just curious... How do you like that R9? I love the design, but man, I just don't know if it would be worth the price! Seems like a great combination of power and size for a pocket gun. How does the thing shoot? Trigger OK? Does it 'Point' well? Reliability?

I find the R9 a superb piece - and yeah - awful spendy. My first one (I have 2) was a total ''I want one" in a moment of fiscal lunacy!! I did a lot of tests on ammo etc while I broke it in. I decided to keep that one as a collector being such an early specimen and have another for carry. Profligate? Certainly - but this is a very special gun - one which has no equal IMO.

Trigger is of course DAO - and is 7Lbs with a soft butter smoothness - the trigger mechanism design is elegant in its simplicity and clever. ''Pointing''?? No prob's but - as you might expect, not much gun to hold and so a technique needs found and practiced to get good control - once that is mastered then pointability is good. It is or could be pretty much a gun for ''bad breath'' confrontation anyways. Karl Rohrbaugh tho is on video plinking at a steel plate at 25 yards! - It can do surprisingly well.

Reliability - this is fine if ammo choice sensible. I admit - it does not like ''just any'' 9mm - but so many design features that enable such a cartridge in a small gun - do mean it can be picky. If you measure a lot of SAD 9mm's you'll find how much OAL can vary - short rounds IMO can be more problematic. Gold Dot 115's and 124's are the food of choice. With those I have no issues.

Here's a few of mine. I've carried them all at some point, except for the Luger and Walther P1.

Bumper,

Have Betty 'true up' the front tanto edge on your Stryker.

Oh, sure, it will take you six or so months to get it back, but an Edge Pro also does some nice cosmetic repair work.

I bought one of those non-serrated CS Pro Lite Tantos when they still had some in plain edge. It came a might crooked, but I slowly trued it up and the edge was approaching 'spooky.'

Work was a tad slow one afternoon, so I put the Pro Lite on the Edge Pro and started to slowly polish off minor spots with a 660 grit stone. Then I was polishing the dickens out of the edge with 4000 series tapes.

A guy walked by and bought it before I was done.

Yeah, Tourist, I let a guy sharpen it at the SHOT Show and it's sorta ragged. I don't have the berries to try and sharpen it yet.

Hi all,

Hello Betty, I stumble on this site because of a thread on GT regarding your home being ransacked and your safe got trashed, I truly am glad that you're not home when those thugs got in, but I'm glad too for those idiots that they did not encounter you and your "arsenals", especially that looong wheel gun

Stay safe you guys, and keep those pics coming.

Thanks and regards

CLASS 3 - Wanna bet - that hot loads won't hurt!???

Even in my 4" 629 - I rarely find more than 3 to 4 cyl's full needed to get me to my ''comfort limit'' - and that's with Pachy grips too! Plus I am a recoil junky!

Probably posted this before but here is the 629 - can't be that much heavier than yours either ....
