The part in the article about the Trolley Square Shooting in Salt Lake City wasn't quite accurate on a few points.

In Utah, gun free zone signs have no legal standing. Any CC permit holder can carry almost anywhere in the state, barring federal bldgs and some, but not all, state bldgs.

Second, although I view off duty officers as civilians with CC permits, legally in the state of Utah an officer is an officer 24/7 anywhere in the state. I can be cited by an off duty officer who is on vacation in a different county.
