Hello All

I am a newcomer to this forum. I have been a CCW permit holder for just shy of one year. I live and work in sunny (NOT!!) NE Ohio.
My carry weapons are, in no particular order, a Rossi 720 44 Special revolver, a Taurus PT-111 auto, a Colt Agent 38 Special revolver, a S&W M60 38 Special, a Beretta 21-A 25 cal auto and a NAA mini revolver in 22 mag.
Holsters for the above weapons come from a variety of makers. The current list incluse such fine makers as Bell Charter Oak, C Rusty Sherrick, K&D Holsters and Ron Graham.
My reasons for wanting to carry concealed a most likely the same reasons you have, to protect myself and my family. We live in a dangerous age and it just keeps getting worse. I refuse to become a victim or a statistic.

Hi KRobb ~ Welcome To The Forum.

"We live in a dangerous age and it just keeps getting worse. I refuse to become a victim or a statistic." :unitedsta
Well, you pretty much nailed the basic Combat Carry Philosophy in that short statement!
You'll fit right in here!
It warms my heart to have good carry folks here from The Great State Of Ohio.
It was a hard fight to win Ohio over to concealed carry...The Liberal Media predicting the usual BLOODBATHS and Wild West "gunfights" in the streets. They had the poor Ohio citizens half scared to death with their lies.
Please post your comments whenever you want to.
We want to hear from you.

Welcome KRobb. I have family in Sulivan Ohio which is East of Elyria, and go there a few times a year, and am glad I can carry there as well.

Hi All

Thank you for the warm welcome. Yes indeed it was a long hard fight to get CCW legislation enacted here in Ohio. As for the bloodbaths, I don't see any blood. There is a senator trying to get the journalist access part of the law removed. I just hope they can get the "In plain sight while in a vehicle" wording removed.

Welcome, KRobb from a fellow NE Ohio Buckeye. I, too, hope to see the "in plain sight" wording of Ohio's CCW law clarified soon-it seems as though everyone asked has a different view as to what this phrase actually means. The most common answer I've heard is "it depends on the location and the officer in question" ,etc., etc., if one is involved in a routine traffic stop. I hate to keep my gun locked in a box while I'm in the vehicle, but that overwhelmingly seems to be the answer for best way to "play it safe".

Welcome to the forums from another new Ohio member. I am from central Ohio myself. Yes, the "in plain sight" vehicle rule is yet another hoop we have to jump through to carry in Ohio. I have been pulled over by the OSP while carrying. My G19 was riding in fanny pack around my waist. Gun compartment was zipped closed. Zippers were locked together with a Master backpack combination lock. I notified the Trooper, showed him the lock and all was well. No disarming or hassle or anything. Once again, Welcome!
