Wonder if anyone had this problem. I have a PF9 and when I draw sometimes my thumb goes the backing of the holster so I don't get a good grip. Wondering if there is a way to reinforce the backing to the band so it stays tight against me to prevent this. I am still working on wearing this so possibly higher up near my buckle will prevent it. Curious if others have this problem too

First, make sure the straps are tight, so the holster pocket does not sag.

Second, when you draw, place your thumb on the backstrap of the pistol first. Then, slide it to the side of the grip. Becomes easy and fast with practice.

That's the problem when I grip my thumb is under the back fabric. I do tighten straps. Will check about the safety pins but thinking it is a correct depth to protect the trigger. Bet I can raise it a tad which would help with he grip. Just nice if the holster with the backing was attached to the straps so the whole thing was tight not just the sides where it's attached

as 10thmtn said.....you need to practice the draw using your thumb on the back of the slide, moving the thumb to proper grip once cleared of the holster
I think you'll see good results if you try this

I draw with the thumb over the rear sight, as the gun begins to clear the thumb slides down and around the grip.

My gun doesn't have a manual safety, but if it did this motion can be used to snick off the safety at the same time.

To make my SC "just right" I wear it about 1" to the right of midline. I cinch it up to ensure that the grip rides just below my belt line and use my first three fingers to secure the grip of the gun, raise the gun and then usemy thumb to finish grip and draw the gun. Takes a little practice but it works quite well.
