Hey! I just moved into CT recently and I now have my CCW permit. :congrats:

What part of CT are you in? I'm near the Naugatuck/Waterbury area.

I have a G19 and 26 as well as a Kahr PM9. I love them both dearly. My G19 was purchased in 1994 and has had tens of thousands of reliable rounds through it. Never had a light strike or anything. The very few times it went "click" was definitely ammo related as it wouldn't even fire in another pistol of the same caliber. Seriously, I've only had a couple of those instances and it was NOT the Glock's fault. The only malfunction where the gun "broke" was when the trigger return spring broke. The trigger would stay to the rear and not reset, but you could push the trigger forward to reset and it would still fire. This happened about two years ago, so I got over a decade of hard use out of it. The spring was a very, very simple and inexpensive fix.

As for the Kahr, mine's been great. It falls under the barrel recall serial numbers (VAXXXX), but I've never sent mine it as it functions flawlessly with several different types of ball and HP ammo. The recall was to reshape the feed ramp because Gold Dots have a huge HP cavity and could cause a hang-up. I primarly carry Corbon for self defense and never, ever had an issue. I'd say the build quality is on par with Glock and it's aesthetically more pleasing. I have the stainless steel slide. The only "problem" I've had with it (about 1500 rounds through it now) is it wouldn't load the first round using the slingshot method. This was when I first bought the gun and when I took the time to read the manual, it says to insert the mag and use the slide lock to "drop" the slide. Doing it that way has never failed to work for me. I still slingshot the first round and if it hangs up, I just do it again and it works. I just don't like "dropping" the slide because it wears on the slide lock and slide notch. Not a big deal as this is done at home/range so if I need it for self defense, it's ready to rock and roll. Never ever had a FTF when live firing...only the hand cycled first round. Never had and FTfires or FTextract/eject either. You'll see a lot of negative posts about the PM9, but mine's been great. It's an older serial number so maybe the quality has slipped a bit over time. Dunno...
