Hi From Florida

Hi, my name is Chico and I'm from Vero Beach, Florida. Haven't own a gun since the early 90's. My present wife and I are not anti-gun but just didn't want one around us. With the way things are changing it also changed our mindset. If you know my wife, for her to change her opinion it takes a lot.
I purchased a Glock 19 4 Gen for myself and a Sig Sauer P238 for her. She will be taking the Concealed Weapon course.
I'm a Vet so I applied for the Concealed permit August 29th. I'm a little nervous. 30 years ago with my ex wife who knew how to play the system had me arrested for Domestic Violence numerous times. I never touched her but like I said she knew to to play it. Never convicted. Will that come back to haunt me?
Thank you. Really enjoy reading and learning from this forum. Just have to learn the lingo. What does "PRINT" means? I have an idea but want to be sure.

Hi from right down the road from PSL. Chances are those 30-year-old arrests may show up, so be prepared to jump through some hoops in explaining them. Some things just never seem to go away. It may require some legal assistance to clear things up.

"Printing" is the obvious outlining of your firearm through your clothing. It is not illegal here. FL requires that your concealed firearm be "concealed from ordinary view," so being covered is concealment enough. A loose T-shirt/over shirt works well for me.

State statutes 790 and 776 are your best resources with regards to any firearm or use of deadly force questions.
Thanks for the reply. I deliver mail in PSL. Just out of curiosity, wouldn't that show up in my 3 day waiting period when I bought my weapons?
Well I guess I better look for a Lawyer who specializes in Gun laws.
Welcome from Wisconsin, Chico!

Since there were no convictions the charges evidently were considered unfounded. I feel since you already passed a backgrond check when buying your firearms that you'd be ok. I'm not an attorney nor do I play one on TV so take that with a grain of salt. It might be a good idea to scout a lawyer who knows about CC laws but don't lay out any money unless you need to.
Thanks. I was thinking the same thing. That's what I'm doing now looking for an attorney just in case. I checked the status of my application all it said so far they received it. Only been a week but I feel like a kid anxiously awaiting to see if I got accepted to a specific college.
Welcome to the forum!
I don't think that having been accused of anything is going to make a difference as to whether or not you can carry as long as you were not convicted. I am not a lawyer but the background checks are to help keep guns out of the hands of convicted felons. Glad to see that your present wife and you are doing things together like starting to carry. Good luck! I think you will be surprised at how much there is to learn about self defense once you start carrying -I was.
Hope it all works out for you..Welcome to the forum from a mountain in North Carolina

Hi Vero Neighbor

Hi Neighbor I live in Vero also. This is also my first post :) so hello everyone. I Just bought a Glock 29SF 10MM and I love this gun. Im looking for a concealed class for me and my wife soon. Does anyone know how much the classes plus price for the license itself are in Florida?
Welcome neighbor. I have seen classes for 80 bucks. Yesterday I rode to Stuart and right before you hit Jensen Beach Mall I saw a sign for CCW classics for 55 dollars. You can go to Sportsman's Indoor Gun range here in Vero. 4185 S US 1. That's where I bought my weapons. Next to it they offer CCW classes.
If you go to the DMV in Vero by Aviation Blvd it goes real fast. Around 15 minutes. Cost me 124.00 they charge 2 dollars if you use a debit card.
If you are a Vet it's supposed to take 30 days. If not 90 days.
Good Luck and welcome to the forum

Lotus Gunworks. CCW class prices vary greatly. Most gun shows have them also.

You're not the postal deliverer who delivers my mail to the wrong street, are you?
No that's my Sub. That's what Sub's are for LOL
