I am considering ordering a few holsters from High Noon. I am looking for something to hold an Officer's 1911. I like the look and position of the Bottom Line. My concern is the pistols retention. Is this valid?

I also am looking for a high-riding holster to wear at the 3 or 4 o'clock position. I like the look of the Need For Speed but I have the same concerns. Should I look at something different? I am considering buying both holsters.

Does any one have experience with these specific models? Although these holsters will be concealed, I still want top-quality materials and construction. Can I expect this from this manufacturer?

I don't have either of those two, but I have others, and High Noon is nothing but quality...you WILL NOT be disappointed.

Can't say about the two models you are considering but I can tell you I've worn their Mr. Softy for about 4 years now and its great. Very concealable and comfortable. Excellent quality at a very reasonable price. I'm considering a down Under with clip in horsehide for my G36.

I have a Mr. Softy for a SP-101 and it is a quality holster for it's makeup and price and it does have a tension screw that holds the weapon securely.

I have the Public Secret carried AIWB for my Glock 23 and S&W J-Frames. Excellent quality with sight track, side shield and tension screw in quality leather.

My newest High Noon is the Double Jeopardy holster worn either inside the waist band or tuckable inside the waistband with all the features of the Public Secret.

I carry everyday and High Noon provides me quality products, great customer service and a guaranteed return policy.

As it has an adjustable tension screw, Mr. Softy's retention is fine while wearing it. However, although somewhat reinforced at the holster mouth, it isn't an overly strong reinforcement and reholstering can be a little tricky. With a bit of practice it really isn't a big problem though. For the money it is a very reliable holster. To answer your question about shaking out; I guess if you took the holster off with the gun in it and held it upside down and shook it you could probably eventually shake the gun out. But, I believe that's possible with just about any holster that dosen't have an actual retaining strap of some kind.

I carry a 1911 officers model in a High Noon Tailgunner. I was skeptical at first, but this has been a fantastic holster. I have since ordered the same holster for a sig. I have wasted an incredible amount of money on holsters just for this gun alone. Everything from hybrids on up. I will never look back. Top notch quality, workmanship and most importantly, comfortable. The sturdiness, strength and width of the clip on a good gun belt along with the little wing thing, mean no moving around. Hope this helps! Good luck

I have a Need For Speed I carry a full sized 1911 in quite often during the winter.

Retention on the holster is good, it has an adjustable retention screw so you can set it. Just be sure after you get it how you like it that you put some loc-tite on the screw.

High Noon is my go-to maker when I don't want Kydex, and their holsters are high quality, even the less expensive stocking order ones. And they are backed up with great Customer Service and a solid return policy.

Another very satisfied customer here. I have two of their IWB leather holsters, which are absolutely great, and one of the laminate skin OWB holsters. I love them all, and the retention is good on all of them, too. They're a little tight at first, but after a week or two of use, they're perfectly snug. And while I haven't had any reason to tighten it yet, they all have retention screws so you can snug them up as they age. The only quibble I have is with the laminate skin holsters, which collapse a bit when empty, so reholstering requires some extra attention.

If you don't order a stocking item, though, be prepared to wait - maybe for a few months. It'll be worth it, though.

by the time my holster ships I will have forgotten I ordered it. It will be kind of like a surprise present. @beni, if you ordered yours in december and are still waiting I probably won't see mine until July. Ugh! I should have paid the extra money for a rush delivery. Oh, well.

I imagine my order is taking so long since I ordered around the holidays. Its possible they can get caught up by the time your order is ready.
