Hi all, I'm new to this forum but from what I have read so far it looks like a knowledgeable group. I've got what is probably an unusual one for you all to ponder. I picked up a Derringer in 9 MM at a gun show this weekend. It is not my primary carry gun, I've just always liked the look of them. Since I live in the land of the free, (at least for now), I bought it just because I can. Anyway, does anyone know of a company that makes, or would make a holster for it. I'm not sure what would be best, pocket, belt, or ankle. Maybe all three depending on what I am wearing.

Any help would be appreicated.

Thanks.

Look at www.andrewsleather.com Sam makes pocket holsters that would work very well for one of these derringers.

Sam sure does do good work, I must admit. You may also want to look in "Related Links" above in the "Holsters" section for some really good holster makers.

A few companies make a Derringer in 9mm. Bond Arms is the high-end ($350+), while Cobra (previously Davis) makes a very reasonable 9mm Derringer ($130 range). I own a 9mm Cobra, which while not a "primary" weapon, can be used when your primary is too large for concealed carry.

FYI; the Derringer is a bit slow to bring into action - requiring cocking and releasing the safety to fire (I carry it loaded, half-cocked, with the safety engaged). It is however surprisingly accurate at reasonable distances (maintaining a 10" group at 12ft). It is potent and very accurate at realistic close-up ranges under 12ft.

Unlike the very nicely finished and tiny North American Arms 22 handguns, the 9mm Derringer offers the security only a larger cal round can provide IMO.

Visit these web sites for more info:

Cobra: http://www.cobrapistols.com/
North American: http://www.naaminis.com/magnum.html

Good luck with your final selection.

I have a Bond Arms with a 9mm barrel conversion and presently keep it in a Mil-Tech #18 nylon cordura holster . Fits perfectly. Bond Arms also sell several nice leather belt and pocket holsters for their derringers.
