I got my Dad a new holster and belt for Christmas. He loves them both, but the leather on leather contact makes a distinct squeaking sound sometimes. Is there anyway to stop this or does it just have to wear in. He has been wearing it as much as he can around the house.

It'll stop when it wears in....I had a Galco Convertible holster that would squeak like no one's business....but by wearing it and going a couple of times to the range where I did holster presentations....no more squeak.

I agree with srfl, break-in is the best solution. If you don't care about the holster finish, you can use "Neatsfoot Oil" or saddle soap but those might make the leather too soft, so if you DO use them, use them sparingly.

Rub a pure glycerin soap bar or white candle wax on the contact areas.
