I have a KelTec p11, which is supposed to take S&W 5900 mags. I mainly wanted to do with because of the 15 round magazine that could be used with the gun.
Problem is, I've gone through 3 mags now, and none of them reliably feed. The stock mag I have put 400 rounds through with 1 misfeed, and a .25% failure rate I will take.
However the 15 rounds mags will misfeed reliabily every 2-3 rounds. The first bit I fired I got 5 rounds off without a hitch. The next 5 had 2 misfeeds and finally a bullet got turned 90 degrees and was facing downwards in the mag, jamming the thing up and I had to take out the mag and fix it. This is my 3rd 15 rounder that doesn't feed reliably at ALL.
On top of that, I have a 20 rounder (more for a joke, it sticks out the bottom more than the height of the gun) and that thing doesn't feed more than 1 rounds before some kind of misfeed. Obviously thats not the mag I plan on carrying with.
So, aside from keeping the stock 10 rounder in the gun for carrying (which is what I am doing right now) what can be done to make these mags reliable, aside from switching them out with a replacement?
