i don't understand the specifics but there is some very MINOR difference b/w the glock and the XD... Something about how when you pull the trigger on the glock, the hammer still has to travel backward slightly (isn't fully cocked) before coming forward to strike the round. so, the case been be made that the glock isn't fully "cocked" as thus some people think it's safer.
the XD's hammer is in full cocked position but there is a firing pin block...
