A friend of mine runs a knife store (www.thebrightedge.com) and I was making payments on a Microtech Halo III but opted to get the Emerson Commander BTS since, well, EMERSONS ROCK!

cool knife. I decided to quit buying any more, as I have several I don't use now.
Nice knife, I'd like to have one but I won't buy a knife with a liner-lock.
Kenpo, The liner locks on my other Emerson's haven't failed yet. And from what I hear at the Usual Suspect Network forum, they rarely ,rarely do.
Very cool - enjoy your knife! I have the mini-Commander. How do you like your Wave feature? (It's fun, but it can tear up your pants if you use it often.)
I am a member of KOA (knife owners anonymous) - I have too many knives, or at least more than I need.

I do tho still want a Kershaw BOA - just ''because''!

Yeah, I know. But I've had too much bad luck with liner locks that I just don't trust them. If I were to buy another one, I'd be constantly waiting for it to fail and that's not the kind of attitude you want to have toward a tool that you may need really, really bad someday.

That's just me, I'm glad they've worked well for you.
I've kinda wanted and Emerson Commander from the first time I saw it. I'm not too crazy about liner locks though.
I own a Commander and a PSARK; both liner locks fail the "spine whack" (against the heel of my hand!) consistently. I admire the design, but the fitting of the liner locks prohibits my carrying either of them!

Bob is doing me damage with those Microtechs; I bought a pair of Terzuolas from him, just got my HALO III, and I think I need another..... :chairshot
Bob is one of the good guys out there for sure. Ya'll keep the orders going into him.
Excellent folder, enjoy!
I've used a Commander on-duty for years and never had the liner-lock fail. Simply an awesome knife!
Me likes my Commander!

I've had my Commander for almost a year now and I love it. I've also heard so many negative comments concerning liner locks, that I put mine to the test. So far, I've had zero probs, and it stays locked.

Mine goes clear over and touches the other liner. Not a big deal sicne Emerson will fix it for free. I just need to wait for my CQC7 to get back form getting refurbished before I send it in.

But the Commander is defenitley the best knife ever.
Excellent and just in time for an early xMas gift to yourself!!!

Although I have carried tactical folders for years for some reason or another I just decided to purchase several Karmabit Emerson folders and will say without a doubt Ernest puts out quality knifes. Among future purchases will be a SF Commander and Trainer/Drone.

I believe the Wave feature othered on Emerson knifes is the third best thing that has happened to tactical folders. All three are equally important. Spyderco hole, Pocket Clip and Wave feature. Emerson offers all three on several knifes.
My CQC-7 is one of the first ones he made and it still works after all these years. Several carry the Commander and I'll just say, if its Emerson, then its Good 2 Go. I have three and wont change or trade a single one.
I've had my CQC-7 for several years now and I trust it as much as I trust my carry gun.

As BlueLion says, 'Nuff Said.
