Close isn't close enough. Please help me track down a holster that meets these criteria.

1: Leather.
2: Right hand draw.
3: Black.
4: Open top.
5: Paddle type or snap to the belt type, for easy on and off.
6: Retention screw (or good enough manufacturer not to need it.).
7: In stock, not a custom job that takes months and months.
8: Fit to a 3 inch S&W Model 65. Not a 4 inch that hangs off the pistol, not a 2 inch open bottom that the pistol sticks out of. Made for the 3 inch.
9: Forward cant or straight up draw.
10: Not over $100.

Does this even exist, or am I dreaming? Certainly the stipulations with a price limit make things tough.

Any thoughts?

The best I've seen is an older (but new in package, it seems to say) Kramer paddle on Ebay. Opening bid is $50. I'll bid on it, but likely my $100 won't get it...

Blackhawk CQC holsters, there are a few differant types that fit your bill. I actally like a retention strap model, but they do have one just like you described.

I don't see anytihing on the Blackhawk site that is workable. In their leather shop, they have snap ons and paddles, but not for a k frame S&W.

The FIST snap on holster will be hard to beat, however. I think it's exactly right. The only thing I see that another holster might do better on is lead time. The FIST site says 6 to 8 weeks. In truth, that's not even all that bad... Excellent referal at $73.

FIST, INC.

And in fairness, a paddle would beat out the snap on, all other things being equal. But the FIST paddle is $125.

FIST, INC.

Anyone else have a suggestion?

The FIST site does say 6 to 8 weeks but I have always received mine in about 5 weeks. The quality, the customer service, the large selection and the huge number of guns they can accomodate as well as the relatively fast turnaround time all make this company hard to beat. I've always been satisfied with them.

Yup, it's gonna be hard to beat that one.

I didn't win the Ebay Kramer holster, so I ordered from FIST. I ordered a black type #2 Snap On with IWB adapters. I think I'll be happy with that!

Thanks again for the recommendation.

You will enjoy the FIST with the IWB adapters. I have one for my Kahr K9. IWB conceals better anyway.

FIST Charged my card today. I guess that means my holster is "in the works". I hope to have some Holster Porn to show in the next 5 weeks or so...

This will be for my buffed out S&W 65.

I had a suggestion until you said "in stock". It may be tough finding a quality leather holster ready made that meets all of your criteria. You may want to call Eric at HBE or Nate at UBG. Even if they dont have for your gun, it shouldnt take them too long to build and ship.

The "In Stock" and "Under $100" was almost a contradiction, wasn't it...

Well, I'm not all that happy with FIST as of now...

I ordered, and my card was charged on 9/9/09 and I recieved notice of the billing on 9/15/09 via email.

On 11/9/09 I emailed asking the status of my order, and no reply was received. I looked in the SPAM folder and everything.

I called today, and I'm told "We never received your order."

I still had the email confirmation and everything, so I forwarded THEIR email back to them, to get the ball rolling.

Apparently, they are willing to "expedite" my order now... Gee thanks... I asked for an estimated delivery date, and was told they were having a "flu epidemic" and there was no way to tell. I never even got a "sorry for the confusion" or anything...

Not cool FIST!

I would NOT recommend FIST to anyone.

I decided to cancel my order, and the person on the phone was not very kind.

After I gave my credit card number, "Alright, we will credit you." CLICK...

Several posters have recommended FIST and I have found them to be a quality firm with which to deal. I suggest that you call them up (they have an 800 number) and explain your wants/need to them in person. My personal experience has been with Jim Murnak (head guy there) and have fouund him to be both polite and helpful. FWIW!

I spoke to FIST twice today, and the results are posted above. I understand that a vast number of people may have had good experiences, I have not. Simple as that... My one experience may not be an indicator of their overall quality of service, but today, the proverbial ball got dropped.

As soon as my card is credited, I'll look elsewhere for a holster.

Call Nate at UBG or Eric at HBE. They are both class acts. I have an excellent Com III from Eric that I got in about three weeks.

I have a UBG Canute IWB holster and have another on order. The quality is great, and I can only assume the quality of the OWB holsters would be just as excellent.
