I've been looking for holsters that would be functional and comfortable... Does anyone have suggestions that could help me out??

the usual problems that women have with using holsters designed for men is that 1. the holster rides too high because women typically have shorter torsos in proportion to the rest of their body than men do. this makes a woman feel like she's drawing the gun up to her armpit when she draws. 2. women's waist and hips flare in/out more than men's, so that the butt of the gun often feels like it's digging into the woman's ribs.

if you mean Outside the Waistband holsters (OWB), then Kramer Leather makes a leather belt holster designed for women that drops further (to compensate for women's typically shorter torsos), and that angles the top of the gun further away from the body (to compensate for the typically greater curve of the female hips). Blade-Tech makes a similar design in kydex. they are not cheap - perhaps $130 for a Kramer and $65 or so for the Blade-Tech). see their websites for details. these holsters are meant to be worn at or behind the point of the strong-side hip.

if you want an Inside the Waistband holster (IWB), i recommend you try the Remora, which is a pouch made from a tacky synthetic, which pretty much remains where you place it under your waistband, as long as there is reasonable pressure between waistband and body. the Remora works better with lighter weight guns. recommended positions to try are 1. behind the strong-side hip 2. cross-draw 3. in front of the appendix (if right-handed) in a vertical position. cost: $33

with either of the OWB holsters, i strongly recommend a real gunbelt. typical belts will not hold the gun/holster securely against your body because they aren't rigid enough. typically $40-$100.

Although I can't help you personally, (#1, Not a woman, and #2, can't legally carry yet) I would tell you that maybe you should give some more information. For instance, what will you be carrying, and where would you wish to carry (on your person)? Size of pistol will make a big difference on where one could comfortably carry, inturn would also limit one's selection of holsters. Also, body type would be a factor.

I do know of 2 ladies who carry in a holster, in their bra. It's a design that allows the pistol to be drawn from beneath, as in they would need to un-tuck a shirt, in order to gain access. Their though is that a perp would be too interested in what they're doing with their shirt, before they would realize they're being drawn upon. Both ladies are very different in build. One about 6' tall, and a good 180lbs who is roughly 40 yrs of age, and another who is probally 5'8" and maybe weighs 130lbs, and is 65+. Very different people, but they carry the same gun (Ruger SR9c).
So, a little more info may help others give you some good suggestions.

I'm 5'4, 120lbs, and I have a Glock27.
How do you normally dress? My wife is about your height and I realize it's not easy with certain dress styles; plus she has a Beretta 96 and Glock 22 LOL. She has a concealment purse (Pistol Packin' Mama IIRC) that she really likes ( it is a larger style and you can't really tell IMO)

This "may" be of some help?

I rarely wear anything baggy out, which could prove to be difficult trying to CC.
Fist makes holsters specifically for women.

Check out Lima's youtube site.

or falia's you tube site.
When we women decide to start carrying, we have to adjust our wardrobe. It stinks but that's what it is. The sooner that's accepted, the easier carrying becomes. I never wore a belt, rarely wore loose shirts etc. Now I do. In a quest to not change my wardrobe too terribly much, I recently started carrying a single stack most days. I still prefer my XD and carry it when I can but my Shield is now my EDC.

I can say I LOVE my Little Foxx holster, it's smaller all around so it's more comfy, fits my frame better and hides well. I love it so much I'm planning on seeing if they make it for the XD and if they do getting one when my husband isn't looking. I also use a flashbang (wearing it now - love that I'm not wearing a lg shirt!) and I use a homemade thigh holster.

I've recently heard great things from a woman about Kangaroo Carry and may give that a try.

Check out the Flashbang holster. It may seem silly at first, but if you are at least moderately endowed, it conceals very well. But I would also chech out the link Aceoky posted. Limatunes has put together some great stuff for women.
I'm 21 years old so I'll probably end up having to buy a medium size top vs a small or extra small to accommodate a gun and holster. I wouldn't feel comfortable not having it on my person (like in a purse). I'll definitely look into these ideas :)

An internet search for <holsters "for women"> comes up with a number of discussion threads from various forums, manufacturers of holsters: click.
I second the Remora. I looked at a lot of other options & for me purse carry is not something I am comfortable with since that will be the likely target if Im attacked. The Remora holds well (for me) and allows me to place in a wide variety of positions depending on what I am wearing. I also do have an ankle holster from The Well Armed Woman that is pretty comfortable. I plan on using that more in the summer when I have on more lightweight clothing making concealment more difficult.

At the risk of TMI and embarrassment of posting this on a traditionally "guys" board, I'm not even moderately endowed and the flashbang conceals great for me. An added benefit for me is it's better than any push up bra I have ever owned!!*:embarassed:

www.packingpretty.com has some good ideas for dressing around a gun. She has pictures of clothing that works on pinterest too
The 3 holsters I wouldn't be without are a belly band, a Remora, and some type of hybrid belt holster.

The Remora and the belly band will allow you to try out many different carry positions to determine what position conceals your gun best on your particular body shape. For example, I found that a low-ride, behind the hip, butt-forward cant worked best on me. Other women prefer a high-ride vertical cant; still others prefer appendix carry or cross draw. Even those of us who are similar in height and weight can have very different shapes!

Here's a web page with several holster demonstration videos, including one on belly bands: Women's Holster Talk

I wouldn't recommend investing in one of the pricier leather belt holsters until you know for sure what configuration you need. Also, any type of belt holster will carry better if you use it with a gun belt. I like the contour-cut belts.

Hope that helps.

I'm not a woman, so I can't help you from personal experience, but faliaphotography from YouTube seems to have a pretty good handle on things:

See farronwolf's post #7, Fist has a line of holsters cut for the woman's figure.
Quality leather holsters...
I bought one for my daughter-in-law and she loves it.
The Well Armed Woman has many options for women. I just bought a LC380 and am looking for a holster for it. I am a bigger woman and am undecided as to where to carry and where will be most comfortable. Time will tell but I like many of the options available on The Well Armed Woman site.
...does my heart proud to hear someone willing to dress around enough gun...it's not going to be hard because you've made your mind up to carry it(and on person, too)...takin' it seriously...it's well worth the effort...
