In PA you can basically OC everywhere but schools, fed. buildings, courts, state parks (though you can cc), detention facilities, airport terminals (secure areas only) and Philidelphia public streets unless you have LTCF. I tend to oc more in summer months. Winter time I use a coat so my weapon is covered. I have never been stopped or frowned upon for ocing in PA. Most people dont even notice Im carrying a gun. I had one idiot tell me Im not allowed to oc in PA. I just laughed at him and told him to review his pa statutes. Sometimes people ask me why I carry? Is this a bad area? I usually tell them the world is a bad area and as big as I am I still cant seem to attach a police officer on my hip. lol

Gas stations, that's about it. Simply because I OC in my car so my gun is accessible and I don't cover up when I'm getting out to pump gas. It's always fun scaring the sheep when you're near the NJ border

I avoid crowds if possible, if not I carry concealed. I carry concealed in banks.
I don't go to the other places listed. I OC mostly during summer. It really depends on how hot it is. I mainly have a CPL because sometimes it is hard to keep it uncovered and I don't want to be charged with carrying concealed without a permit.

[People, please show some respect for the OP and for JD who I'm sure has better use for his time than to continually remind people of the purpose and rules of the OC forum. Out of three pages there are maybe four or five posts that are actually on topic for this thread. If you don't OC out of your house or never OC then there are plenty of other threads in other forums to post in. The OP posted a simple question and I'd rather not see this locked because people can't show a little respect and follow the very simple rules.

Several places on the list are off limits in Georgia such as police stations, universities and churches.Besides those I normally choose not to OC in malls. I don't like the places and would rather not go there, but my wife holds a soft spot in her heart for them. Since I would rather not be tresspassed from a place my wife insists on visiting then I conceal. Sometimes I CC everywhere, but the mall is the only place in my state I can think of that I always do.

We sometimes attend church out of state where it is legal to carry and I always CC there. I do this out of respect for my grandmother who asked me to. She fully supports my carrying and understands why I do it but fears it might alarm the older members (which is 95%) of the church and would take away from the service.

Right now I lightly CC at family events, church and places I'm not sure are cool with OC but I just don't want to risk any hassle.

I chose -
Bars because you will almost NEVER see me in one.
Adult establishments (Only one I go to may be the casino and it is illegal to carry there)
OTHER - Anywhere off limits according to law or LEGALLY POSTED AS SUCH (meaning citing the actual LAW statute and all).

Most of the above are no-firearms zones in NC. So I don't have the choice, really. I CAN OC in banks here in NC, you just can't CC in them. And I'm not in police stations enough to make that decision :)

I tend to OC when the weather's hot, around my town, where it's legal, and haven't had any issues from anyone (except the idiot manager at Best Buy. Look up the thread if you must), but nobody panicked or called 911 or anything.

Now that it's colder, I just find it harder to OC what with my giant puffy jacket and all. So CC is easier.

Other than where legally not allowed, I don't know that there's any place I would choose NOT to OC, because so far I haven't had the sheep freak out. At least, not terribly. It's been mostly a surprised "oh! You have a gun." And then the inevitable "are you a cop?" Which leads to a discussion about NC Gun laws, and then I give the sheep my card and invite them to the range. So far, so good! Even got a few students to the NRA Basic Pistol class and the CC class. It's amazing how someone's viewpoint can be turned around when you simply educate them in a friendly way.

Thanks, I almost voted, and OC isn't legal in Missouri, so this poll doesn't really apply to me.

(There are allowances for hunting and range OC, of course.)
Not true. Open carry isn't legal in Cape Girardeau, due to local ordinances. Open carry is legal anywhere in MO unless the local government has an ordinance against it. We tried to get OC pre-emption legislation last year. It passed in the house something like 150-50, but never made it to the floor in the state senate, likely due to concerns about amendments relating to college campus carry, etc.

If you go to OpenCarry.org - A Right Unexercised is a Right Lost! you'll see a list (not comprehensive) of many of the cities where you are allowed to carry. I believe that with the exception of St. Louis county, there are no other county ordinances, just cities and towns that prohibit (IANAL, I may be wrong).
