Last night, on a whim, I bought the Snake Hound Machine Loudener for my AK. Now I am "that guy" at the range that everyone hates.

Either way, should be a fun toy to make a bit of sound every now and again. Anyone ever see/hear one of these things in person?

In my book unless you have to use a muzzle break etc (state law) or big bore I think they are irritating esp indores... Outdores not as much I dont care then but indoors unless you have to please dont .. The concussion from that stuff is not fun for anyone

LOL.. and I thought it was an early April Fools but that really exists... now I have to ask Why?

Yah know, I never knew such things existed. But it explains a lot.

I have been to the range before, and everyone there firing their various weapons. Obviously a large bore revolver makes more noise than a .22 Lr.

But there is a normal level of noises to be expected. Every now and then, there will be someone shooting something just unGodly loud. Beyond anything you ever heard before that is hand held, or (civillian) shoulder fired.

And I got to say, knowing that someone made their weapon louder, ON PURPOSE, for no reason other than ....(you fill in the blank), makes me madder than Hello.

If you want to screw your hearing up, thats your business. But stay away from the rest of us.

I wear hearing protection, but its good for normal shooting noises. Not for some thing designed to be intentionally louder than an already loud weapon.

The first time I saw that thing... I though who would spend $75 on one of these. Learn something everyday!

Haha. Love the responses. Figured this is what id get. Its not something Id take and go shoot with a range full of people. The range I frequent is small and pretty slow during the week. It would be fun to bring with and if I get a bit of time at the range where its just me (pretty frequent), I can pop it on and just see what its like. Im more curious than anything. At the range, it is indoors, and everything up to .50BMG is allowed, but out of respect to others, I wouldnt be using it with a range full of people.

Last thing I need to do is scare somebody away on their first time to the range.

I laughed at all of the comments. I hope I can one day make it to that range. They're really cool guys and I am sure they will want to shoot your rifle while you're there.

I have a BattleComp compensator on my AR, it is loud if you are on either side of me. I do not get out the AR when the range is crowded, it really pisses everybody off, LOL. Not as much as some guy with a 357, I hate it when somebody is shooting one of those cannons next to me...

I was that guy the last two times at the range. :redface:Had my 357 snubbie shooting full house loads, and then my Mosin Nagant M44 carbine. The old guy next to me wanted to strangle me I think.

I felt bad about it, but needed to get rounds through both those weapons, and had no outdoor options.

of course, a wise man once said:

(just kidding):gah:

I can understand that kankketel, I usually wait until there are fewer shooters and then still warn others when I load magnum loads into the .357. It does get a tad loud.

Not sure why you would want one. You do wear hearing protection ,right? I found it bad enough when my buddy had a mini y comp on his bushmaster AR.
