1177 BC: The Year Civilization Collapsed

If you watch this YouTube lecture, related to the presenter's most recent book, you will find it an hour well spent.

Professor Eric Cline, an archaeologist, discusses the first great collapse of civilization, which happened about 3,000 years ago.
Dr. Cline draws parallels with the situation we face today. He describes how and why the ancient collapse happened, and why it might happen, in a similar manner, to our own civilization.
His lecture style presents facts moderated by both political realism and humor. I suggest that you'll find his subject interesting, and his facts meaningful.

"From about 1500 BC to 1200 BC, the Mediterranean region played host to a complex cosmopolitan and globalized world-system. It may have been this very internationalism that contributed to the apocalyptic disaster that ended the Bronze Age.
