Holy...well....wow those are beautiful. I love the wood grain!!
Liberals are far better at taking guns than conservatives are at keeping them.I hope I am wrong . From the day Obama was elected I started adding to our collection. Not a panic but some thing I saw as a reasonable precaution.
Now that it is clear Hillary will win I have been adding at least one a month and will keep doing so.
Enjoy you new weapons and have a plan to ensure you can hang on to them.
Thanks for the heads up. I see they offer a lot of options. Which one did you buy?You're going to like the VEPR. :smile:
The optic mounts are great, and dependent on what you want, there are a lot of options.
Here's a great place to start for mounting options: RS Regulate
These are rock solid, maintain zero, and the custom service is top-flight! I use these on both of my VEPRs.
I bought mine at Brownells, since they have a no question asked return policy: RS Products
Approx $200 for the upper and lower set is a little pricey. Are they that much better than the CNC Warrror optic mount or the like?I got the following:
Front Biased Lower Rail;
Full Length Rail;
Picatinny Upper Rail;
Optic Mount
And a Burris PEPR, also from Brownells.
I run an Aimpoint Pro on one, and a Nikon 4 x 8 on one.
I'll add the link here in a moment. You'll see the configurations in the photos.

I have never seen the others, but these have great reviews, and a no question asked return policy at Brownell's, so I really didn't worry too much. They are every bit as solid as said, and maintain zero. When you spend $800 on a rifle, $200 for mounts isn't too bade IMHO, plus the optics. Just my .02.Are they that much better than the CNC Warrror optic mount or the like?
Yep the Vepers have very nice wood ..Even the but pads are art work on themThat is some of the nicest looking woodwork I have ever seen on an AK!
Rob ski and others have confirmed this ..Aresnal and the plant that makes wsar are switiching some if not all of there tooling to make FA miltary guns for contracts in Iraq etc ..Some model of the SLR wont be imported for years others like the WSAR will be in small batchs here and there until they get caught upCongrats on the rifles - they look great.
I recall reading that the WASR plant got a new military contract and would not be making civilian exports for awhile...feels like it could be true.
I like shooting my AK better than shooting my AR. Don't get me wrong - both are fun but the AK just seems like it can cut down a tree HAHA. Cleaning your AK? A breeze its literally like 3 parts.
I polished the bolt (used white vinegar and flitz - worked like a charm), installed magpul furniture and an AK-74 muzzle brake.
