Indiana State Park- carry or not

Taking a group of kids I work with camping at an Indiana state park in a few weeks. I have a Utah permit, which is recognized by IN.

The state park website states...
"Any firearm, BB gun, air gun, CO2 gun, bow and arrow, or spear gun in possession in a state park must be unloaded or un-nocked and stored in a case or locked within a vehicle except when participating in an activity authorized by written permit."

However, according to handgunlaw.us....
Carry Allowed in these Areas:
State Parks:
YES
No Carry Allowed in
“Fallsof the Ohio” State Park
Per IN
Administrative Code 312 IAC 8-2-3
State/National Forests:
YES
DNR Regs
WMA’s:
YES

the park is not "falls of the Ohio."

So which is it?

I will call the park office if need be, but fully expect them to say its off limits (maybe it's cause I'm used to IL not allowing anything)

I just checked the DNR website and under "Rules and Regulations" it states:

â—ľAny firearm (except validly licensed handguns) BB gun, air gun, CO2 gun, bow and arrow, or spear gun in possession in a state park must be unloaded or un-nocked and stored in a case or locked within a vehicle, except when the owner is participating in an activity authorized by written permit.

Here is the link: DNR: Rules and Regulations

Your reference left out 1 very important part of the regulation:

(except validly licensed handguns)
Since you have a valid Utah Permit for Indiana, you are licensed to carry there.
nice catch guys, thanks.

Guess the powers that be at turkey run decided to leave that part out... Indiana's Turkey Run State Park - Rules
Turkey Run is a great State Park. Enjoy your visit.

Frank
Thanks

We take the kids we work with there every year, it is a great place. Highly recommend it.

Will be a little safer this year, we have run into some shady characters in years past there, but by in large, mostly good people too.
