OK, this ain't up to date - April 2003 in fact but you may notice on reading, much that may still be applicable and valid. Struck me that way.

These reports are interesting. They seem to point in a lot of cases to things that are not quite right with equipment. When I was in we always seemed to get what we needed, not always through the "normal" supply channels though. :smile:

These days it seem that more of the troops end up going to commercial equipment, and doing it "out of pocket". I find that trend a little disturbing.

I think Rick - in particular - the ''talcum powder'' sand has been a major player in malfunction gripes. Certainly for M16 (again!).

There is mention of this abrasive causing loose take-down pins - just because of hole enlargement from it.
