When the trucks stop delivering the shelves will be empty, all of them. Everything travels by truck to final destination, milk, meat, canned goods, clothing, medical supplies, gasoline, diesel fuel, auto parts, everything.

What would a 6-pack of Budweiser cost if every delivery vehicle had to have a tail gunner and door gunners? Scary thought.

When the residents of the trash heaps have to go out to a fancy restaurant for a dinner of stewed rats, their rhetoric may change slightly.

My wife and I were newly married and living in the LA area when this happened. Mr Denny was pulled out of his truck a couple if blocks over from where my wife taught in south central.

We moved to Michigan the next year.

We’ve seen this “movie” before, and it doesn’t end well.

Trucking is a dog-eat-dog competitive business. What one won't haul or where one won't go, a dozen will.

IDK, that used to be true but now that their lives might be on the line, I wonder if they want to risk it.

One or two Reginald Denny incidents and I doubt the competition will be too fierce.

If money is to be made, then people will ship to any location regardless of the political climate or LE has been defunded or nort Greed often outweighs right and wrong as well as common sense.

I hope other truckers follow.
Interesting when he talks about his insurances rates.
I have said all along this defunding of police has much wider consequences than most especially the liberal media ever imagined! Homeowners insurance will likely skyrocket especially in large metro areas where fire departments will not respond to certain areas w/o police escort. This will change fire ratings which largely drive insurance rates!

When insurance rates for homeowners, businesses, and automobiles double or triple people will be leaning on the politicians for action. Meanwhile, real estate values decline because no one will purchase property in blighted areas. Homeowners with mortgages will start abandoning their properties, leaving banks and mortgage companies stuck with loans they can't collect and assets they can't sell. Pretty much a recipe for economic collapse.

Didn't we see a similar effect a few years ago with all the sub-prime loans and Wall Street shenanigans that ensued?

Yes, we did. All of the lending programs leading up to the mortgage "bubble" collapse were dictated by Congress as requirements for mortgage lenders to remain in the business. Sub-prime, no verification of employment or income, no standards at all, just exactly what Congress forced mortgage lenders to do, with taxpayer liability tied to the results.
