Is this a new trend?

OK, I've had a gun in the house for years, but I have become very active lately in gun rights, have a my states CHP (Concealed Handgun Permit) and carry whenever and wherever allowed (which is looking like it will increase significantly as bills move forward in the state (NC)).

Of late I have noticed a number of commercials on TV for both gun stores, ranges, and CCW classes, on a daily basis on TV. As I am in a market that covers both states, stations have had ads for both NC and SC establishments. I love that one of the ads for a pawn shop even show pink handguns for women.

Would love to hear if this is a trend across the country, and if there are any such ads in the liberal lala land of NY, CT, CO, MD and others rabid anti states.

I don't know about anywhere else, but in Tennessee you see those things everyday. Here you can count on gun shows, gun stores, and moonshiners. We have all we really need!

In Missouri the radio seems to be flooded with gun stores advertising. I'm listening to right-wing talk, so it kind of figures. But I do notice an uptick.
I don't have cable, but I haven't noticed any more or less on the radio than there was before the giant gun-control storm. But that's GA, I guess. Not a big worry of loss of gun rights here, I'd say.
I don't recall ever seeing a firearms-related ad on tv here, ever. My LGS does some radio ads, but they actually seem less frequent now.
Don't know about TV here in the Richmond area (I seldom watch it). But the shooting range and the 2 major local gun stores advertise on the radio all the time.

I agree with this post.

The radio airwaves are just jammed with ads for gun stores, shooting ranges, shooting lessons, magazines (here in Colorado we are trying to find what we can prior to the July 1st imposition of new capacity limits), etc.

From my perspective it is very welcome!
Comcast will no longer broadcast ads from gun related companies... So I won't see them.
Comcast blows..... FIOS.

Oddly enough, on a DC morning show that I listen to when traveling in/around DC they carry an ad for Atlantic Guns, which has two stores, one in Silver Spring, MD and one in Rockville, MD.

98 Rock in Baltimore will carry ads from time to time for a local range.

We do have gun shows here, more often in the fall and spring. Longest lines I have ever seen at the two I went two most recently.
Here's another "pulse" to keep your finger on, OP. Keep track of the location (page number) of your New Member Introduction posting. I was amazed at the incredible speed that mine receded in the pages, as it was moved back by the huge number of new members pouring in (and still are). And it's not just this particular forum. It's happening on just about all of them. United we stand.
There's a new store in Shawnee, KS called She's a Pistol (they cater to women) that was running some ads a couple of weeks ago.
Maybe I am paying more attention to it now, but there seems to be an Uptick in adds.....

That^^, not that I can recall ever seeing such an ad on Comcast.
I wish some of the bigger firearms manufacturers would advertise on the national networks... at least Fox News. I see their ads on the Outdoor Channel, and a lot of them are really well done and professional.

I think that would go a long way to making firearms ownership and carry acceptable to more of the general population, especially in the cities.

I am in Metro Atlanta and I agree. No more No less these days.

Actually there is only one LGS/Range that I see advertising on a regular basis even though I can think of at least six large gun retailers with state of the art ranges in my immediate vicinity (within 15 miles).
I rarely watch broadcast TV. I have Netflix so I get all I want to actually watch, commercial free. I do listen to radio (mostly am talk but FM when the kids are with me). At least 1hr a day (half hr in am and half in pm for my work commute).

As far as I can remember, I have not heard or seen any ads for LGS, nor CCW classes in my area. I don't remember anything from the box stores like Gander or Cabela's either, at least nothing gun related, they mostly advertise other sports.
In the Milwaukee radio market the conservative talk radio station I listen to the most has a few ads for guns stores. In our local newspaper there's always a small ad for a concealed carry course. That's about it around here.
Which station are you hearing the ads on there GH? I mostly have 620 on in the car/truck and the Mix when the girls are with me.

About the only gun related ad I ever hear are the ones with Bob and (formerly) Rocco(RIP) about gun shows.
I notice more ads for CCW, gun stores, and ranges lately here in SC. Also, more small signs on side streets in town.
Other than the gun shows which happen almost every month, i have seen no gun store or gun ads in Oklahoma, NE. Tulsa media outlet area. But I took my CCW class from a local church (non-denominational) it was advertised by the members. I am not a member there. Our church is having a mens retreat in October and one of the activities will be a CCW class. (Southern Baptist).
