In November 2002, the Australian Institute of Criminology released its annual Facts and Figures publication, a quick reference booklet that details the major crime statistics for the preceding year. The statistics on violent crime include homicide, assault, sexual assault and robbery. Rates of violent crime in 2001 were higher than in previous years. The rate of assault has increased steadily from 563 victims per 100,000 people in 1995 to 779 per 100,000 people in 2001. In 2001 the rate of robberies reached 136 per 100,000 people which is the highest recorded since 1995. The rate of sexual assault was 86 per 100,000 people, which is higher than any previous year.

I had read these somewhere before. Big surprise, right! The sheep just never seem to learn, do they?

Must be bad-guy paradise - hardly any risk of meeting serious self defence levels.

I'd say UK pretty much same - tho of course neither ever had CCW but for sure a gun in the home is mighty useful - if ''allowed'' to own one!!

You know, the gunless society is scary enough, but it's also scary that people cannot see that crime increased where guns were banned from the general citizenship. How hard can this be?

Since England and Austraila have banned guns, their crime rates have increased dramatically and the authorities responsible don't, won't, or can't seem to get the picture.

The message is just not well communicated by the press - they listen to the "Mouthpieces" without criticisms or analysis, and then off to the "presses":haha:

If however, the NRA, or other like-kind group releases data - they fight it tooth and nail, and bury it with the classifieds! :aargh4:
