IWB mag holster question

I'm in the market for a IWB mag holster. Would love to bring my extra mags with me when carrying. I have 2 extra mags that came with my G23 so I was originally looking at double mag holsters.

But then someone mentioned that the rather large double mag holster can be quite uncomfortable. He suggested to me to get 2 individual mag holsters because they are usually much smaller and can be positioned more comfortably. Definitely made sense and got me thinking.

So just wondering what everyone's thoughts on this is. Especially from owners of both. Pros and cons and such. Because I'm torn between the two, but leaning towards the 2 single mag holsters now.

I really like single mag carriers for CCW. They give you more options. Now, for a range or comp holster I think doubled or quads are better because they are more stable on the belt. For an IWB I would go single.

The biggest issue with IWB double mag holders for double stack mags is that you're really starting to need a lot of extra room! I can get away with wearing an IWB holster inside of most of my various pairs of pants but things start to get pretty tight when I start stuffing mags IWB, too.

Is the IWB mag holder necessary for your setup/how you dress? If not, outside will be more comfortable and they really don't use much real estate below the belt.

Everything that has already been said +
2 singles let you choose to carry one or two I normally only carry 1 extra but occassionally 2.
The use of a nonconventional case as a mag holder works for some as well, I sometimes carry a xtra mag in a Gerber multitool case.

I carry IWB for my holster while OWB for my spare magazines. I have both a single and a double magazine holster, and have found to prefer the double as the extra weight directly across from my holster seems to balance nicely and makes for more comfortable wear overall. Although during warmer months the OWB double prints through cover garments more than a single does.

Awesome guys. Thanks for the input. Looks like going with the single mag holders is best. I like the idea mentioned of having option to carry 1 or carry 2 if you feel the need. Also now that I think of it I see it unnecessary for it to be IWB as you guys are pointing out.

Thanks everyone for the input. That's why I come here, everyones input makes it easier to decide on split decisions such as this.
