Kevin said that since I lived in Florida, my holster would probably get in on Friday. Well, it made it a day early!!!

And YES, this thread would be USELESS WITHOUT PICTURES! :yup:

First off, the holster fits the gun perfectly. Once snuggled in, it takes a pretty good tug to get it out, all most like drawing from a "click-fit Fobus!" I know that will change with use, in fact, just drawing a dozen times or so has already brought the draw pull down into an acceptable range.

In my opinion, Kevin under-ratres himself when you talk to him. I'd have no problem stacking his craftsmanship up against anyone in the business.

Enough of my prattle, though. Here's some pics! :image035: :biggrin2:

I blew OPSEC years ago, there's a number of pictures of my mug out on the 'Net, so I've no real problem posting a pic of myself on this forum. Well, just a little problem. . .

I dropped some weight and lost most of the "overhang," but looks like I still need to do some work on firming up some muscle groups!

Anyway, the next set of pics show how well the holster and belt keeps the gun up against the body. You'll notice the belt is a little loose. Even so, the gun is nice & tight against my side. I may let Kevin shorten the belt a bit, but knowing how things usually go, I will probably grow back into it. I'm using the next to the last hole, so I can actually tighten it up, one more notch.

The last pic is of me in my usual mode of dress. Jeans, (sometimes better than that pair,) T or "wife beater," and an unbuttoned cover shirt. Oh yes, sometimes I do actually shave on my days off, but not this time.

Guess I'd better not loose any more weight! Somebody pass me a cheeseburger!!! :biggrin2:

Actually, I just realized when I took the pics, I had the belt buckeled into the middle of the 5 holes. Right now, its in the next to the last hole and doesn't sag one bit.

So, I've got a little more latitude than I thought with this belt and doubt I'll need any expert adjustments. :biggrin2:

As for the "feel" and over-all functionality, I've going to have to live with this holster for a few months before I can make any meaningful comments on it.

My first impression is that the belt & holster combo is a real bargain, though. Pretty much a custom rig at very nearly "off the rack" prices.

I was very happy I could do business with a fellow Vet who's also ex-Navy, a fellow Floridian, and who is also a real, stand-up guy.

Now, I wish I'd ordered a matching double magazine carrieer at the same time! I told my wife I was ticked off about finding I could have gotten one from Kevin, for only about 5 bucks more than I spent on the Fobus double carrier.

She said, "Why not send him that one and a five-spot?"

Wimmen! :image035:

Anywho, many thanks Kevin! You've added one more fan to your list.

Mike - once again a look at some class leather crafting.

Thx for the pics too - it sits real well and you will love using it. It will ''give'' a little after some weeks and then be ideal for years to come - even better in other words!

Haha - Christmas can come in March too :smilez:

Nice looking rig. looks to ride nice and high as well as tight to your side. I didn't realize the CT laser stuck out that much from the gun. how does it seem to ride in the holster?

Beautiful rig, I've heard Kevin does outstanding work. But I agree with los, you look like you're staring down Marshall Dillon! If I had just got that holster and belt rig, I'd have a grin from ear to ear!

Yes, that color really does work, doesn't it? Kevin spent some time talking to me on the phone, while we both looked at his web site, finding colors that came close to what I wanted. The one he came up with was exactly what I pictured in my head, too.

The belt is a perfect match for the holster, as well. :biggrin2:

I just can't say enough about how pleased I am with this! :hand10:

Now then, about "the stare."

Not a lot of sleep, no chance of any more sleep over the next 24 hrs, and have the photographer put the sun to her back.

After that, it kind of comes naturally. :22a:

CombatEffective,

It was your review of the Laredo Defender that led me to pick that particular holster. Thank you, very much!

Rocky,

I'm not really sure if the CT laser really sticks out as much as it seems to in that picture. I'll be taking a few more in a couple of days, and I'll take a few of the G23 from the side, top, and rear, to give a better idea of how it actually affects the grip on the weapon.

The way the fingers fall, the CT grip really doesn't make it feel much wider, but there is something of a "1911 tang" feel in the web of the thumb and 1st finger area. I kind of like it a little better than I thought I would, to me, it seemed like something of an improvement.

Hopefully, the next pics I take will make some sense of that. . .

Try to get that kind of service from off the shelf holsters. I don't think so. These leather benders here are proud of their work and it shows.
