Jones'n For a new 1911 4 inch gun why i dont knwo must be the 1911 fever what do ya guys think of this gun anyone own one pro cons..

GREAT gun...Although I hear that after 5K rounds.you'll need to replace the recoil springs.......Springfield TRP maybe? or just a good Commander that's done over?

I have a Kimber CDP Pro. Same size as a commander 1" groups at 25 Feet.
not bad. I have 2 .45 Glocks a S&W 99, and a S&W .45 custom revolver and my Kimber out performs all of them. I am looking at a Kimber TLE. I like the quality and would recomend any of the Kimber Products. I too have replaced the recoil spring after 500 rounds becuse it wasn't locking up so i went to a 22lb spring and now no problems.

I have heard that Kimber is having some problems with FTF/FTE on the smaller guns due to either their new safety or extractor designs on the current production. Go check out the 1911 forums for details. Of course, this is second hand info at best.
