I'm looking for a IWB holster for a Sig P238 that is sturdy and stays put when I draw. I don't wear belts with my slacks, they don't even have loops. I've looked at Alien Gear and like that, but they say the ulticlip won't work with it. They claim the steel clips stay, but I don't want to chance it. I've also looked at Vedder, and TWAW. I can't find anything that's got good reviews AND a clip that stays put. I need ideas. Originally, I was going to carry in my purse, but I've since decided that's a bad idea and I want it on me.

You might consider something like the Galco Escort Waist Pack. I bought one of these back in the 90's and use it when a holster isn't an option. ESCORT_t.jpg

I think one of the best options is a white, sleeveless 5.11 holster shirt, bought one size too big. That extra 'size' puts the opening down below your chest, making it easier to access the handgun.

Being sleeveless and white it is easily worn under your regular clothing, but of course you need to be able to get to the pocket, so perhaps wear things with some space (like a V-neck) so you can reach in there.

Be aware that a larger handgun is not fully supported by the velcro so if you lean over excessively, the item may fall out.

Also, it doesn't have a reliable way to cover the trigger and could snag, so I would use a trigger blocker like 'Safe-T-Block' and/or a very thin holster sheath with nothing sewed to it that will fit in the pocket but snug to the particular gun. You can use heavy duty white thread to 'tack' the holster sleeve to the pocket but with some 'give' (a few strands of heavy-duty thread?) that will have some play to help you carefully place it in the sleeve where you can see there's nothing to catch on the trigger. Reholstering can be somewhat hazardous. Do it in front of a mirror?

I don't like any of those 'clip on the bra' things - don't go there.

Belly bands? They're OK but are most women going to carry them around all the time.

If you're wearing dresses and skirts you can't wear on the waistline and special waist packs can be expensive (the Galco one is $130 bucks!).

If you like the white one you can invest in a black one and be covered for most clothing choices, but get sleeveless. They're not cheap either but work very well with some practice and care.

Good luck!

Another thing that might work for a pistol that small, depending on how snug the waist is on the garment and how it fits your hips, would be a Sticky Holster. My wife has tried this (she doesn't wear belts either) and it seems to work satisfactorily for her. Of course, you will need to wear an untucked blouse or shirt to cover the butt of the pistol.

My wife carries a M&P Compact all day every day in the 4-5 o'clock position in a Galco Underwraps Belly band. She can wear it that way with any outfit, pants, dress, skirt, doesn't matter. It stays put and easily distributes the weight. Started her out with a Shield, which completely dissapears and very lightweight, and then once she got used to that, bumped her up to the Compact. She says she doesn't notice the extra weight at all, and only notices the thickness difference a little bit when she sits. Worth a look!

Find a holster that accepts the utili clip or come with it? The utili clip seems to work well for me with light shorts , even the really thin 5.11 shorts with rip stop material , the clip is solid.

Thanks everyone. Sorry if this was a repeat post. I looked and didn't see anything that covered what I wanted.

I don't like the idea of the belly band I'm in Texas, and I'm nut wearing anything more than I have to. :)

I'm plus sized so the shirt isn't an option either.

I'm doing a little more research on what holsters come with it already, but they all seem to be appendix carry.

I may just order the alien gear and try it to see if it really didn't work.

Thanks again!!

The occasions I don't wear a belt are usually more for physical activity, on those occasions I use a PistolWear TrumpCard and find it works well. The TrumpCard is made of soft neoprene material and can be worn around the waist or under arm like shoulder holster under clothes. If you don't like that style, then you might try a Warfyter Liberty holster. I have not tried the Liberty but the clip is suppose to hold on any kind of material.

Go check out the "universal" holster at jm custom kydex. It's made to be worn without a belt. Send Tony an email with what you want and he will take care of you. His stuff is top notch quality.

If the standard ulticlip won't work with the Alien Gear, maybe the ulticlip 3 will...https://ulticlip.com/product/ulticlip3/
Also they should work with the majority of kydex holsters that use clips, so you should have plenty of options to choose from, or as others have mentioned, try something like the pistolwear or smart carry.
A flashbang or flashbang marilyn might work as well. Other options may include Deep Conceal Lotus for Ladies Body Band Holster for Concealed Carry Under Clothing (or a kangaroo carry) or a thigh holster.

The ulticlip should work with these (and they are available in multiple colors/patterns)

My wife carries her Kimber Micro 380 in a Can Can Concealment belly band. It has 4 holster positions, and four places to carry a spare mag or cell phone. It was like $70 but it's really well built and she likes it. It is worth looking at.

Y'all can carry any way ya' want. But I'm not carrying ANY handgun around my waist, IWB or OWB, without a belt (strap?) of SOME kind holding snugly around my waist. And, the first time your handgun clunks LOUDLY to the tile floor of a public restroom, you'll feel exACTLY...the same way. :biggrin2:

I just received 2 Ulticlips today for my AG. The AG screws are tapered, but the Ulticlips are not designed that way. I'm going to try it anyway. I'll report back on how they work.

The Ulticlips will work fine just as long as your pants will support the weight of the gun. I sell them all the time they work great!
