We have had a military, vet's roll call - but I am interested to know who we have here in LE - serving or retired.

Not trying to be too nosey but, seems as we grow we have even more LE folks - which I find most pleasing. partly because I think many of us ''civvies'' can learn a lot from you.

So - if OK with you personally, do please post and tell what your current roll is or what your past roll was, within limits of your own comfort level of course.

I do already know quite a few of you but seems we have had some more LE folks join us too in recent weeks.

Retired Special/Reserve PO, spent 18 years working PT in small MA PD.

Currently Constable in MA. For past 6+ years, serving legal papers, evictions, arresting deadbeat dads, etc. Many FT POs deny that we are LE, but according to MA laws we have arrest powers, appointed (sworn in) by Town/City Clerks just like FT POs, but we act as private contractors.

Almost 35 total yrs LE. 27 yrs with my current agency (state) and soon to retire. 1st part of my career I did crypto and internal security for a fed agency. Current agency I started out in patrol and spent about 1/2 my career in Investigations. Was on SWAT for 10 yrs with 3 yrs as a team leader. Sniper for about 5 yrs. Been on and commanded numerous tactical ops. I've worked security details for every president since Jimmy Carter. Have also done numerous security details for other heads of state including some foreign. Those are always fun and high speed. Some of my assignments have been district cmdr, investigations cmdr, drug task force cmdr, fugitive apprehension unit cmdr, IA cmdr, and R&D cmdr. Taught various topics at our Academy. My philosophy has always been don't turn down a chance to volunteer for an assignment and never turn down one when offerred. I never wanted to miss out on one. I don't want to be sitting at home reading about them, I want to be there to see it in person. You only pass this way once so make the best of it while the opportunities are there. I did not want to be sitting in an old folks home some day telling my great grand kids that the way I spent my life was shuffling papers or the most exciting thing I've ever done was to pick out a new pair of shoes. As a result got to do some fun stuff and be on some interesting ops.
Also retired military. 26.5 yrs total - some active, most national guard. 2 yrs Army, rest was USAF and ANG. Did 13.5 yrs enlisted and 13 yrs commissioned. Enlisted I was MP, SP, and LE. Commissioned I was NBC commander, engineer, and retired as USAF Security Forces commander.
Being a Type A personality can leave you a bit worse for wear as you get older but each scar comes with a story.
