Great response! I'm sure it never hit print though.

December 9, 2005 (CNN) While interviewing an anonymous US Special Forces soldier, a Reuters News agent asked the soldier what he felt when sniping members of Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. The soldier shrugged and replied, "Recoil."

That could have been me, oh, 35 years ago. I like this guy.

There are some silly questions asked sometimes. On my lifestyle investigation for my security clearance the investigator asked me how I felt about nuclear weapons. I laughed. She finally came to the real point of the question, but what an odd way to start.

I'll bet he's heard a really old sniper's joke. Recoil was the punch line and I first hard it in the 60's. :hand10:

Classic!

Maybe add too ''satisfaction'' - not so much at a killing but at the almost certain fact that it will have saved some brother's lives.

He could have said something like "hey....I wonder what MRE I'm gonna have for lunch"

At least that is probably what I would have said.
