South Dakota is leading the way with some common sense. I hope WV will follow but I doubt Manchin has the guts or will. Congratulations SD!

OMG, the Lib's will all get the panties in a knot

Good for them, and common sense is right
I believe others are following this common sense direction. We should see more and more. Don't expect to see it in states like N.Y. though.
War? Maybe only their latest offensive.

I love your optimism, but do not share it. While small pockets throughout the country may be pushing back slightly, thirty-six million Californians, and nineteen million New Yorkers live under bad-and-getting-worse anti-gun regimes. Throw in the other anti states, and we find about one in four Americans living with severely-curtailed gun rights.

Never say never. "Never" is a long, long time.

They'll never rest, not on this issue, not so long as there are People capable of resisting their "predations" (the most-offensive thing they can imagine). :dupell:

I agree with Mike on this one...
I am glad to see many states pushing back. And It's not enough....

OTOH, we do believe (generally) in state's rights... So, if the people in some states elect representation that curtails their freedoms for a nanny state, they have only themselves to blame. The remainder can vote with their feet, and leave the state.

Eventually, "utopian welfare states" will collapse upon themselves. If all you have are beneficiaries, and no producers, there will be nothing to "share."

California and New York are not "too big to fail."
OK, I admit to being overly optimistic but it's a start.

As for CA, NY, MD...they are lost causes and I don't expect them to ever have any common sense where guns are concerned.

Maybe I should change the title to: Anti's lose one in the war against common sense.

Way to go South Dakota. One down 39 states to go.

I think you meant 56 states left, eh?

I sit here in Palm Beach County Florida and laugh at the uproar over placing or not placing security/guns in the schools. Well us old dumb bible thumping, gun toting southern folks used a little horse sense back in 1972 and placed armed school police in our schools. Wasn't that dumb. By doing so we have missed out on the free press over the years for having very little violence/crime within our schools, not to mention the "free" government grants for security enhancements we also missed out on.
Palm Beach County is the 13th largest school district in the US with 172,000 students. Palm Beach County has about 50,000 more students then the state of Delaware.

NOT to worry! Personally, I like to be in an optimistic state!

It beats living in Colorado right now! :lolp:

I'll beleive we are winning the war when every single Constitution hating,pro-socialist,treasonous one worlder is arrested and tried for treason.

All we would have to do is review their voting record. Any vote that is contrary to the Constitution gets them thrown into the pot.

Winning the battle. Not the war. The war will be raged over and over again until the antis get what they want. When we win the battles, we cannot let our gaurd down. They will hold their tongues until the next round

This is only one more battle won, yes. But that's how you win wars. One battle at a time. And you have to remember that these battles we are winning are during a time of intense pressure by gun control advocates at all levels, all the way up to the White House. That we are winning ANY battles under these current political conditions is a reason to celebrate. And we are winning battles almost all over the country. It must be very disheartening to the anti's that despite the biggest push for gun control certainly in my memory, we are racking up victory after victory for freedom and liberty.

Dang, HG. That sounds like something I'd say. Bee in ze bonnet, eh? Yeah. Me, too. Grr-rrrr.

Unfortunately, it goes way past mere voting record. It's even holding discussions, meetings, conclaves or attending any of these dog-and-pony shows that the faithless have been doing for a couple decades (at least). These closed-door escapades are another. All of it is in direct violation of their oaths of office, directly seeking to undermine, circumvent or outright attack the Constitution's prohibitions against fooling with the armed citizenry's right to arms.

And that's the tough part. Hard to get a monkey out of the tree, when the scent of bananas are in the air. These folks live and breathe by being involved sufficiently to get reelected. In the end, it is about how well they at least appear to represent their constituencies. And if they're not having a seat at the table, even at these surreptitious undermining sorts of things, they're going to get sidestepped, votes affirming the 2A or not.

And so, the "war" continues. And it'll continue until many things change: until the mindset of a good majority of the People changes, whereby sleazy, underhanded, liberty-hating anti-constitutionalists never get voted to temporary office, until the People refuse to allow anything beyond a couple of terms for congress critters; until we undo the damage done by the lunatic Citizens United ruling that opened the above-board flood gates to unlimited "big" money bribes to sitting congressmen; until the current crop of liberty-hating judges who can't judge this topic dispassionately are evicted from their black-robed "thrones"; until the Constitution is upheld, again. Sadly, I don't see all of that coming anytime soon.

Hopefully it is disheartening enough for them that they lose the appetite to try it again. I do get the sense that the tide has turned. I recently posted the bit about the bingo thread that appeared on the front page of the Progressive site Dailykos, which believe it or not has a decent few 2A supporters, in which the antis went insane with their rhetoric. Since then, a lot of the furor seems to be dying off and the (multiple) daily anti threads aren't getting the massive outpouring anymore.

What's a "one worlder"? I mean, I can put the words together, but all I get is a Disney song. Is it political jargon, or something more specific?

Victory after victory? You and I have dramatically different definitions of victory. Many guns, and nearly all ammunition is currently unavailable or prohibitively over-priced in most areas of the country. The antis are getting exactly what they want.
