Somewhere - on some forum not too long ago - somewhere in the immenseness of cyberspace - I responded to a thread dealing with 625's, moonclips etc and referred to my (then misappropriated) home made demooner. My intention was on finding it to post a useful pic to show it - but can I remember what forum, what thread? Can I heck!

It has now turned up and I have taken a pic to show it - simple thing that it is. To cover bases therefore, I am offering this very simple-to-make tool for those who may yet wish to make their own. It just so happens that this tube size is large enough internally to let cases or rounds slide thru and out the end - a further rather useful feature.

How do you make it without a machine shop though?

Or do they already sell tubing this diameter premade that way and you just cut the notches on the end? And what kind of tubing is it and where would you get some?

Euc - the tube was ''just something I had'' - being an old engineer I have quite a bit of assorted offcuts lurking in the shop. I don't know where you'd get it yourself but - does not have to be stainless - any piece of thinnish walled steel tube will do - in fact some folks make do well with a piece of 1/2" copper water pipe IIRC!!

No machine shop requirement per se - a hacksaw is all you need and maybe a file to dress the cut edges.... oh and a vice to hold it in when cutting of course sure helps. Just two cuts - first is down long axis to approx 1/4" depth then cut across to original cut to remove the section - leaving then that half tube upstand.

Good info if i ever but a 625 or something else that uses moon clips ill be all set
