that's the part that got me saying "only in DC". However, if it was a secured area, I would think it would not be a good idea to have a gun in your car. Kind of dumb."was charged with having an unregistered firearm and ammunition"
Since when was ammunition illegal?
Since when has the media known what they were talking about? :hand5: :35:"was charged with having an unregistered firearm and ammunition"

:yup:I'm always amazed by people who consent to a search....
Not by itself. See discussion at http://www.defensivecarry.com/vbull...n/86452-question-locked-case.html#post1296072That would be a Catch 22.
Which is quite an EASY task around the entire DC/Metro area...especially if you're not used to it. Dummy probably just didn't even think about it. I'm going to venture a guess that he probably completely forgot that gear was in the vehicle which was big mistake number one. Mistake 2 would be going to DC in the first place and #3 would be consenting to search...in the immortal words of Bugs Bunny..."what a maroon!"According to the article I read he was several blocks from where Obama was and probably wasn't even planning to go anywhere near but got caught up in an unexpected road block.
In DC, it has to be. Apparently, because it hasn't achieved statehood yet, the Constitution does not apply to it.Since when does a shotgun and ammunition need to be registered? I am also pretty sure that it's legal transport a firearm in one's trunk. As for taking it into a secured area, well, that's not too smart.
