Manila Door Mat

We have a somewhat similar door mat that has served for I can't remember how many years. Very durable stuff.

Very nice job on your home made version. Looks great.

Reminds me of the rag rugs my grandmother use to make. She would cut old rags into thin strips and tightly braid them into a long rope and sew them together. We had several of them around the house - one was an oval shaped rug that was at least 20 feet long and 10 feet wide.

Manila Rope? The durability doesn't surprise me at all! A thousand pirates...can't be wrong.

Very nice craftsmanship! :congrats:

My grandmother made them also and I think she still had a couple handed down by her grandmother.

A very nice gift. I know how much work went into implementing that design!

So, what length of rope did it take to create that?

Thanks. For the inquisitive among us and based on your photo and some assumptions, I estimate that one to be about 12' 8" of rope.:lmao:
