We live on a private mountain road with eight other houses. There is a big "Private Road" sign just after leaving the county right-of-way. This morning, my wife left for work and texted me that "There is a car full of stuff with a man sitting in it about half way down the road". I hopped in the Jeep and found the car parked nearly opposite the driveway of a family with two tween boys. Pretty much every box was checked- older out-of-state vehicle (2000ish champaign colored Sable) with Indiana plates, vehicle filled to the brim with crap, deshevled 25-35 year old white male with long stringy brown hair smoking something. I pulled along side and asked "What are you doing?". An answer from him stating he was staying with X & Y nearby would have gotten an "OK, have a nice day!" response from me. However, as 99.9% expected, the response was some gibberish and I countered with the standard "This is private property, you need to leave!" He came back with a new classic...

"I AM A SOVEREIGN BEING!!!!"

After short continued "discussion", I used my Jeep to "help" escort him back out to the public road. A quick call to the Sheriff and they ended up stopping him back on the edge of town for a chat.

I laugh every time I think about my new "sovereign" acquaintance.

Vagrant vehicles are a growing problem in our area. The homeowners on the road suscribe to the "broken windows" of stopping crime before it starts. So far, we have been fairly successful.

I live in a city, but within a private HOA-managed community. None of the roads or sidewalks are open to the public, and there are signs at the entrance clearly limiting access to residents and invited guests only. I have not encountered a "sovereign being" yet, but we get plenty of solicitors and people walking dogs with no thought of picking up their crap.

Other peoples' children. I accept to responsibility for how they were raised.

The way things are going, we may all have to declare ourselves sovereign citizens at some point.

Wonder how the sovereign being would make out sitting at a bus stop in Chicago while wearing a MAGA hat? Some things take a little more oomph than just declaring sovereignty!

I am thinking "sovereign being" is a more progressive touchy-feely, new-age viewpoint than the normal "sovereign citizen" self-specialness. The vibe was definitely more "stupid pot head" versus "confrontational schmuck".

No shortage of those types since Colorado legalized weed.

The majority of the times I hear “sovereign citizen,” a taser is deployed shortly their after.
Imagine . . . a "sovereign citizen" thinking to fraudulently apply for a passport. It doesn't stop my son from arresting them.

I totally agree with the "broken windows" approach. You have to take out the trash before it piles up.

We live in a HOA run community with privately maintained county roads. Everyone thinks they are private. But when the schmucks in Portland started their crap, people here started to man the entrances armed for a short period of time. Word got out to the closest town (30 Miles) and those towns people are telling others "Don't Go Out There, They Have Armed Guards". The Postwoman was telling us this. It works for us.

I haven't encountered a proclaimed sovereign being yet, but I've seen videos of some of their interactions with the police. Basically they believe state and federal laws don't apply to them. I am just surprised this one didn't put up an argument about private roads belonging to anyone who wants to use or park on them. Their approach seems to be "I have a right to be here. You have no right to question me. I don't have to show the police an ID as they have no jurisdiction over me." I'm just curious how they survive with that mindset.

Citizen seems to indicate some legal relation to the country or state.
Being gets around that, right?

My understanding is Sovereign Citizens are considered a threat to law enforcement personnel.
Well, Sovereign Citizen Trespassers often are. Not sure they are the same rarified breed as Sovereign Beings though.

Glad things turned out ok. Not all sovereign citizens are harmless.
Being in a rural area doesn't insulate us from the undesirable elements of our world.
