So, I've had Sigs, Glocks, Berettas, Springfields, M&P's and a bunch of others but I've never had any 1911's. Well I took care of that. Ordered a Kimber Classic Carry Pro from them and it came in yesterday. Was able to run 100 rounds through it last night before dark. Ran flawlessly and sights were dead on. Then, the Fed Ex guy delivers my VM2 today. No wasn't planning on going anywhere but I think I might now just so I can try out this rig! Lol! Anyway, I'm thrilled and had to share the happiness. Hope it's a good day.
Thanks guys! Yeah, I may have started down an expensive... I mean new road. Lol! I went back and forth between Sig and Kimber. Sure either is fine but tickled with this right now.
Congrats on your choice. My Kimber Classic Carry Pro has been flawless. I hope yours is as well. BTW, save your money because you won't be able to live with only one 1911. I now own 24 of them and regularly look for #25.
I liked the Sig Ultra Tribal but couldn't really locate a new one. Then I got to looking and they said the slides on the Sigs are larger and don't fit "normal" 1911 holsters so that kind of clinched it. Now I have always liked the Kimber stainless Raptors too. Have one of their Longmaster Classic rifles in 308 and it's a beautiful firearm and a tack driver. So I figured their 1911's would be fine (regardless of what many people might say). The Raptor is an eyecatcher for sure but this just looked classy to me. Lol! Figured down the road if the grips get beat up a set made out of stag antlers might look good on this. Soooo many choices of grips it's mind blowing.
