Well, went to the gun shop yesterday and walked out with a new in box Glock 27. Didn't clean or lube it and went right to the range. 100 wwb rounds later, my hand is sore (been a while since I shot .40, especially out of such a little gun), and my gun is dirty, but I am glad to report that it went through the 100 round flawlessly. I did find that the stock slide stop lever was a little difficult to release. I am thinking that an extended one is going to have to be installed. I also plan on putting a NY1 trigger in it. Unfortunately I don't yet have a good holster for it, I ran to Gander and got myself a cheap blackhawk nylon generic fit holster. Even with the garbage holster the G27 is a pleasure to wear around the house when compared with my old Defender. I have been avoiding getting a Glock like I am trying to avoid the swine flu. Having said that, now that i took the plunge, I am very happy with my purchase.

I plan on putting a NY1 trigger spring in it, an extended slide release, and a GAP grip enhancer. Other than that, I can't think of anything else she needs. I hate to say it, but I think my ugly Glock and I are going to have a long life relationship together.

My first glock was a 27 as well.

Good CCW piece, but be careful with the extended slide release, I have noticed it may lead to unintentionally locking the slide in battery, even with more rounds in the mag.

It really depends on how you hold the gun, my hands are pretty big and I just about cover the whole polymer part of the pistol when shooting.

I recently purchased a Glock 19 and love it. Was my first glock. Looking back I kind of wish I would have gone with the 26 with the pinky extension for slightly more concealability. But on the flip side I have never felt potentially out gunned with 16 rounds of 9mm.

Let me know what you think of the trigger spring. I have been toying with the idea of putting a NY1 in but havent really seen any renews.

I love my Glock 22. I would suggest not changing anything on the weapon. The slide stop lever gets easier to use with time. The factory one is unobtrusive and functional, IMHO.

A G26 with the pinky extention has the same size grip as the G19. It really defeats the purpose of the 26 and 27 to put the extention on them. The GAP floorplates are worth their weight in gold

The slide stop will smooth out with use as the mating surfaces wear in to one another.

That said, I'd advocate using the slide slingshot instead, because if you ever need to use the pistol in a defensive encounter, the gross motor movements of a slide manipulation are easier to do under stress.

The grip is the same size but the barrel is shorter and the pistol is overall lighter.

I agree on the slide release. Mine was a bit tough at first but after a couple hundred rounds it seems to get a little easier. I don't even think about it now. Welcome to the dark side. I have 2 Glocks so far and love them both. I bought the GAPHOME mag plates and didn't like them. I'm in the minority, but they hit my grip in just the wrong place and I went back to the stock Glock plates. Most everyone else loves them though.

Barrel length means squat when it comes to concealability. The barrel runs parallel with your leg unless you SOB carry. The grip size is where people have trouble with concealment. I would also recommend a $.25 trigger job.....It helps tremendously. I tried the NY1 trigger spring and 3.5# connector and didn't like it at all. I settled on a $.25 trigger job, stock trigger spring, and a 3.5# connector. If you are going to carry IWB, the best holster you can buy, bar none, is a crossbreed supertuck. I've tried them all and always went back to the crossbreed

point understood, but don't totally agree with barrel length means squat

the further the holster goes into the pants the bigger the bulge, it is an issue, though your point is valid that the grip sticking out is the most common issue, but that doesn't negate that the shorter lighter pistol aids in concealment and ease of carry

+1 for the GAP floorplates. They don't add to the grip length but give you more control of the muzzle flip....

+100 on the GAP floorplates. Changes everything. Grip extentions negate everything the 27 is about. One of my favorite work-day carry pieces. Don't even mind the recoil. :king:

My G27 is my one and only Glock and I love it. As others have stated, some of the stiffness works itself out with use.

And yes, a hundred rounds at a time will leave your hand a little soar.

G 27 was my 1st Glock as well, since then I have added a G 22.

Be careful...they are addictive :image035:

I added the Pearce PG 2733 +1 mag ext. If it's the same length as a G 23 it's only in the front of the grip as the extension tapers toward the back of the mag, (which is where most guns "print" under cover).
