Picked up my first pocket gun this week and am very pleasantly surprised.

I live in Ft. Worth Texas where we wear shorts 6 months out of the year and 4 of those months are very very hot. I have always found myself not carrying as much during the hot months due to the heat and the ability to conceal becoming more difficult. Here in Texas it is a big No No if you print so the option of concealing my glock 26 under a t-shirt can be difficult. Plus with the heat wearing a cover garment, like a hawaiian shirt or 5.11 button down, becomes to much for someone who is naturally prone to sweat.

As a result I decided to pick up a pocket gun and had decided on the Ruger LCP due to it's great reviews, reliability and while I would like to own a Sig 238 I don't want to pay the price tag for it (i have both a son and a wife in college and i am the single wage earner).

I picked up an extra mag and the DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster to go with my "starter package." I have been very excited about how easy it is to conceal in my front pocket of both shorts and jeans (and i don't wear baggy jeans). In addition to the son in college I also have a 3 year old son and a 5 year old girl (starting over ). I love the fact that i can be carrying this pistol and not think twice about picking one of my kids up to hold in public for fear of printing.

I do miss carrying a larger caliber/higher capacity weapon but I now have no excuse not to carry 7 days a week even at home!

I will never again be a sheep!

...Welcome and congratulations at your choice not to be a sheep...
...part of that decision is that you're dedicated to carrying when you can legally do so, since we don't know when trouble will show up....

..."printing" is NOT a big NO NO in TX...here's what is:

TX PC 46.035(a) A license holder commits an offense if the license holder carries a handgun on or about the license holder's person under the authority of Subchapter H. Chapter 411, Government Code, and intentionally fails to conceal the handgun

...most of the people I see daily with shirttails out have bulges, from cellphones to knives to sunglass cases and cameras to tape measures...a bulge beneath your shirt is not reason to believe you're carrying a gun...nor is it INTENTIONALLY failing to conceal...

...I've worn pocket Ts since the late 60s...and carried AIWB everything from a small .22 to a .41 Mag N frame S&W to a Colt .45 to currently a Ruger P90 and a SP101 side-by-side, both stainless because of the sweat...I buy my Ts one size larger and they have enough extra length and looseness to cover my 2 guns, light in holster, phone, and speed strip pouch...never been spotted...very active in my work...with a little experimenting, you'll find carrying a full-sized weapon is easy...
...out of kindness to my fellow man, I DON'T wear shorts...just jeans...

...it's really easy...folks notice a lot less than we expect them to...I do cheat by raising the clips on my holster up 1" to let the gun sit that much lower in the belt...really sucks the grip closer...

I pocket carry my KT 3at everyday too with no problems. I did A LOT of homework before purchasing and as much as I wanted the XDs .45, I knew that just from its weight, I'd be more prone to carry the mouse gun. All the advice I read on the internet was correct and everyday back pocket carry is the way to go for me! I'm rarely not armed, even at home!
