Until recently I've always carried an HK P30 with Robar NP3 plus treated slide and internals, but I recently had to sell it (hard times). I've replaced it with this CZ 75 P-01 in 9mm. I added the walnut grips and the cajun gun works "light spring kit" for defensive carry weapons, and a solid billet firing pin retaining pin. It lightens the trigger pull to 8 lb double action and a 3-4 lb in single action. I also have a UBG IWB leather holster in the mail coming to me. When funds allow I do want to replace the sights eventually , but haven't decided whether to go tritrium or not. What do y'all think of tritrium night sights on a carry pistol?

Tritium. Sites

I have those on my Sig 1911 Scorpion. I don't like them for daytime use. Very dull and hard to pick up. In daylight. For night they are great. Guess its a toss up for CC. I would not get night sites again on a pistol.

Can't comment on night sights, but welcome to the CZ club. The P01 is the third best carry gun ever. :decil1:
I carry the original compact. My next choice is the PCR- decocker model. Finally, the (modernized) alloy frame, rail, decocker P01. That is until the Shadow compact comes out this year! :image035:

Night sights on my Sig 239 are not a problem. Daytime use the black plastic rectangles nnn ... nighttime use the dots ooo

I went back and forth between the PCR and the P-01. In the end I went with the P-01 for the rail and the fact that I already had a Cannik 55 which is very close to the PCR.

...I wouldn't pay a nickel for tritium...regular sights and the same flashlight that enables you to identify your target is what I've always used...

...edited to say I've heard nothing but good on CZ products...

I have installed night sights on all my carry pistols except the LCP which doesn't have interchangable sights.

At night, in a dark parking lot, or other place with low light, I don't want to be fumbling around for a flashlight, I want to see the sights. My HD pistols all have night sights and a rail light. There are arguments for and against. For me the pros of having both outweigh the cons. Works for me, but I could understand why it might work out opposite for others.

The SIG C3, which I've only carried a couple of times, just to do it, will get them - right now they aren't a priority because I don't carry it very often and it does have laser grips, for what that's worth - it's the only pistol I have with a laser on it - I don't think it would be worth much in a fight - especially in daylight. I'd put night sights on the LCP but it performs flawlessly and I don't want to take a chance on messing that up. Besides, I regard it as a short enough range weapon that I practice with it point shooting at 3 to 5 yards.

I personally believe NS are the only real modification needed to a pistol carried for SD.

Absolutely necessary? No. But they sure help in low light.

That's a good looking CZ and a great little carry gun. The grips are a really nice touch and accent it well. Congrats on a fine looking CCW!!

Nice CZ, they are rare around here. I prefer Tritium on the front sight only, like a gold or brass bead even better; rear sights I prefer blacked out.

The H&K P30 with Robar'ed internals is a sweet setup.

The CZ P-01 ain't bad, either. It would be particularly sweet with the Robar treatment.

Have gone the tritium night sight route, on the P-01. Makes a difference, I think. Depends on your preferences, eyesight. My choice: Trijicon 3-dot, green front / yellow rear. Would probably opt for larger sights next time around, but these 3-dots work well.

Night sights are a matter of personal preference. I like them, but it is a decision you will have to make for yourself. I had a set installed on my P-01 and love them. I just purchased a CZ P-07 and am in the process of breaking it in. If it falls into my carry rotation, it will get a set as well.

I have a CZ 75D PCR that I carry often. It is an incredible natural pointer for me, and I had to practice very little with it to become quite proficient in point shooting.

My CZ has been darn fine for me, and hopefully yours will be the same.

Did you get those wood grips from Nill?

CZ are one of the most solid performing pistols in the world, yet they still seem a "rarity".
If you have the cash, "night" sights are a good choice for low light defensive situations, IMO.
Nice looking CZ!
