My wife went for her WV Concealed Permit class with the Sheriff's Department. She scored 95 out of 100 on the written test. At the range on Saturday (Aug 22nd) they had to fire per the requirement in WV law. They had 30 rounds of 38spl and revolvers supplied by the Sheriff. They had an M161A target to shoot, and she hit the circle all 30 times. They started at 5 yrds then back to 7, 15 and finally 25. She shot better than the guy next to her who has been shooting, in his opinion "more than 20 years." I'm so proud.
Then they shot at the rack of round plates that "ping" and fall. She scored a hit the first shot, at least 20 to 25 yards away and then proceeded to blast them all down with her six rounds. They fired one 10 rd mag in a S&W 9mm semi-auto. Apparently the trigger pull was very difficult, even the guys had trouble pulling. Her first shot was difficult, it was the one outside the black. Her next nine punched the circle in a nice tight group. She was at the 15 yard line with the auto.
Needless to say, she did very well. Now it's time to fill out the application for her permit and begin the wait.
